In meckeys it is a pre-order with 1.5 months of waiting time. No guarantee it will arrive on time. Try to see if you can cancel it though. Answer from chimera86o on reddit.com

r/IndianGaming on Reddit: Buying Keychron K8 Pro on MecKeys v/s Keychron site
September 6, 2022 -

Hey r/IndianGaming

After gaming on a shitty chiclet style keyboard for years, I want to try a mechanical keyboard, and I'm considering upgrading to the Keychron K8 Pro. My friend asked me to check out Meckeys.com, and the K8 Pro model with RGB Backlight, aluminium frame and Gateron Pro red switches is 9,699 on Meckeys and 10,499 on Keychron site.

This is a decent bit cheaper, but I haven't used Meckeys before and I'm wondering if it's a good idea to buy from a third party seller instead of directly from Keychron. Does anyone have experience with this site? Is their customer support/return policy decent? Haven't been able to get much information from the site.

r/mkindia on Reddit: Keychron India Support sucks
October 29, 2023 -

I just ordered my first Mechanical Keyboard from Keychron. But Keychron support in India sucks. I had a payment issue with my order and contacted the support 4 times via a call and also via email and then via their support page in the India website. They just dodged the mails and my tickets and calls saying the issue is from the bank side. And after getting the proof from bank that this was a merchant(Keychron) issue, I forwarded that email to Keychron in the tickets. Now they have gone silent. The Keyboard is good but the support sucks and the payment gateway they are using is suspicious.

I have always seen posts about how there are so many delays and so many orders which are not fulfilled from other websites so I ordered from Keychron thinking they are legit in India but I guess picking Keychron for my first Mechanical Keyboard was a mistake.

I would like to know if I was the only one this has happened to.

r/mkindia on Reddit: How to get a Keychron K3 shipped to India [Warning: STUPIDLY EXPENSIVE METHOD]
February 27, 2020 -

Hey guys~!

Before people ask, no, this is not a Keychron K2-V2 showcase. Nope, this instead is how I got a Keychron K3 (yup, the absolutely sexy, low-profile K3) shipped from the Keychron.com website to India.

Also, this post is insanely long so tread carefully. No QQing later about how long it was (>_>)

Now, as many already know, the Keychron.com website does not ship to India among a few other countries and we are completely dependent on Keychron.in and possibly Meckeys.com.

So, I tried to figure out a way to get it to India when I stumbled across a few services called package forwarding services. Many may already be familiar with these but I wasn't. For me this was the first time coming across them.

For anyone not in the know, basically, they work as middle men. You ship the product to the forwarding service and they then ship it to you almost anywhere in the world.

Sound too good to be true for things to work out that easily?

Cause it is

I'll post a tl; dr so people who wish to skip over the long post and just ant the important information can get right to it. The rest can go over my long ass post cause it's going to be long!

TL; DR

I ordered the Keyboard on the 8th of June and got it today, the 18th of June. So it took a total of 10 days to reach me and this is how much it cost me.

โ‚น15,616.52

Incidentally, if Keychron.com did ship to india, it would have cost me no more than โ‚น7k - โ‚น9k.

Now that I have the tl; dr out of the way, let me tell you guys how I went about it.

Firstly, I did research on the best package forwarding service and after several hours, concluded that I would never actually find out which one is good or bad without trying it out.

Out of all of them, USGoBuy had the least bad reviews so I decided to go with it. (Shop and Ship has some truly horrible reviews)

With that in mind, I created a USGoBuy account and they provided e with an address. Using that address, I went onto Keychron.com and ordered the K3 Optical Browns (Hot-Swappable) with White Backlight (RGB for the browns was sold out sadly).

That came out to be $94 ($74 for the keyboard and $20 for the shipping). That was โ‚น7,140.67 for me (Exact amount charged in my bank not just based on some currency rates).

On USGoBuy I created the package and added their $5 photos service where they take pictures of your package so you can confirm.

Then I waited. Since Keychron used DHL, it reached the USGoBuy warehouse on the 11th. Sadly it reached late at night on the 11th (a Friday) so they refused to send the images till late at night on the 14th (Monday).

This is where things get super annoying.

Once I had the photos where I paid for and could see the Keychron box in all its glory, I triumphantly went onto the USGoBuy website to pay for the shipping to India so I could finally get my baby.

But nope, USGoBuy would not make it that easy for me.

USGoBuy has 2 ways you can pay. Either you pay through whatever payment gateway they provide or you fill money onto their wallet and pay with that. Simple right?

I thought so too. Boy, was I wrong.

The only payment gateway they allow for India (for "security" reasons) is something called WebMoney. I had never heard of it before

so I tried to sign up for an account with it.

WebMoney is a Russian service that allows you to create an account and transfer money to others but with an account created on the fly you cannot d anything at all. In order to top-up your WebMoney account, you need to give them a copy of your passport so they can verify your identity.

There was no way in hell I was giving my passport information to some random Russia company.

So I decided to fill up money into USGoBuy's wallet but the only 2 options you have for that are to use Alipay (which is banned in India) and bank transfer which incurs an extra fee of $16...

So, with no option, I contact USGoBuy with my predicament. To their credit, their customer service was really quick and the day after I sent them an email with my issue, they replied and after getting some KYC documents from me to prove my identity, they allowed me to make a PayPal payment to them.

That out of the way, I could finally initiate the shipment to myself with my much awaited baby.

When I went to initiate the process, the shipping rates almost gave me a heart attak...

As you can see, shipping options are stupidly expensive

I chose DHL Express since it was the second cheapest while being one of the most reliable and fastest in the l

USPS First Class was cheaper but the expected time being 2-8 weeks was out of the question.

So with a heavy heart I paid the $65 (โ‚น5,001.34 for me).

Then I waited in anticipation.

I paid attention to every single message and email DHL sent me. It was the first thing I did when I woke up and the last thing before I went to bed. I checked the tracking several times during the day as well.

On the 18th (today), I finally get a message that I need to pay duty/customs and any shipping stuff would only be after I made the payment.

That was message was at 7:01 am, I woke up at 7:14 am and at 7:18 am I had made the payment.

Customs and duties came out to a whopping โ‚น3,474.51.

All in all, I paid โ‚น8,475.85 extra over and above the $20 shipping charged by Keychron for a $74 keyboard.

Essentially the price of the keyboard tripled (~5k to ~15k) to get it to India but anyway, it reached safe and sound.

If you thought you were safe from me showing the keyboard (and my setup) off, then you were sorely mistaken :P

So there you have it. If you have a ton of money or absolutely no patience then you can go with this method to buy the K3 (I fall under the latter category just FYI)

However, if you have the patience, then just wait for it to come to India. Even if it shows up after a few months, it shouldn't cost more than โ‚น9,000 for the keyboard.

Even if you decide to go with this method, just make sure to find a better service than USGoBuy since it really isn't made for India. Payment on it is frankly impossible.
