I purchased two of the K3V2s to see which one I would like better. The keycaps on the optical version look updated and more crisp, allowing the white to shine through better, as well as having a separate shade for the media controls. But I found one odd flaw. On the optical version, the bluetooth connection drops about 1 minute after the keyboard is turned on. This is "fixed" by disabling sleep mode but is not really a solution as it seems to "reset" itself. It also looks like many others have this issue. Now, the non-optical version does NOT have this problem. It works flawlessly and I have not enoucntered a single issue within the two weeks I've owned it (compared to the optifcal version where it happens constantly). This is a shame as I really would like to keep the optical version due to the reduced gaming latency and the orange switches. I wonder why this is? I purchased another optical version to see if it exhibits this behavior as I really really like this keyboard.
Hi everyone!
I recently got a Keychron K3 v2 with white backlighting and I’m trying to get it set up with VIA for custom key remapping. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the JSON file required for the VIA configuration for this specific model.
Has anyone here had success with configuring this particular version of the K3 v2 using VIA? If you have the JSON file or know where to find it, I’d really appreciate it if you could share it! Any advice or tips on how to get this set up would also be helpful.
Thanks in advance for your help! 😊
Hi, I use a Mac and own an MX Mechanical Mini, but it has terrible issues with the ambient/proximity sensors. I have gone through 2 of them and even when my computer is asleep the backlight NEVER shuts off. I have emailed Logitech support a dozen times and it was a nightmare. I have also used an Apple Magic keyboard, but it is ridiculously flat so I ruled that out.
Thus I narrowed it down to the K3 Version 2 because a regular height mechanical keyboard just seems too tall for me. It seems like the K3 Version 2 gets really good reviews on Amazon and is pretty popular.
That said, I watched some reviews and some people mention the K3 version 2 has ABS keycaps, Bluetooth issues and is hard to type on, but a lot of people seem to be happy with it. Does anyone else have issues with it or is it a pretty good keyboard?
