Hi! I was looking at the q1/pro and i was wondering what are the differences between the 2 (the pro and v2) excluding the Bluetooth option. With my research, the pro seems to add a pc plate (better) and the Bluetooth option (better for some) but even with those buffs, it seems like the regular q1 v2 costs more than the pro… thanks for the help! Here are the 2 i was looking at: Regular: https://keychron.ca/products/keychron-q1?variant=40101560189011 Pro: https://www.keychron.com/products/keychron-q1-pro-qmk-via-wireless-custom-mechanical-keyboard?variant=40441727352921
Super excited to get my hands on this product. I was really surprised at just how hefty this keyboard is! I was originally planning on ordering the White one (love the look) but with my setup - the Silver Grey is really nice.
No issues so far, no squeaking or other odd items. I’ve been typing in this thing non-stop to get used to the Banana switches which I have to say are really great. Only ever used browns and low profile reds so this is definitely my favorite so far. Much better typing feel compared to my K3 Pro and K6 (I guess this is obvious).
Planning on taking it apart as I ordered the acoustic sound treatment for the Q1 from Keychron (along with the resin wrist rest and a carrying case for storage). Out of the box it sounds great to me so I’m curious to see what it will sound like after adding the material.

The final build of my Q1 Pro: PC plate, Lubed Gateron Oil King, Staebies Black Nylon stabs, and PBTfans Spark Light keycaps. I'll also experiment with the Acoustic Upgrade Kit for Q1. This should be good enough for this keyboard until I graduate from Keychron some day.
This is a warning to anyone considering purchasing direct from Keychron.
I ordered a Q1 Pro directly from Keychron two weeks ago. I received it last week and discovered that the "D" key did not work. I emailed their support to get return/replacement. After a couple rounds of troubleshooting, e.g. running the test matrix, swapping sockets, that took one day each with their response time, they ultimately forced me to disassemble the PCB, because their "warranty" is not really a full warranty. After wasting half of an hour disassembling the keyboard and PCB, I found that the socket on the PCB for the "D" key had a faulty solder connection to the PCB. I sent a video to Keychron and now I'll have to wait to hear their response and hope that they'll finally accept a return and send me a replacement.
I have just a casual interest in mechanical keyboards, and was not interested in disassessembly and reassembly. After this experience, I don't think I will every purchase directly from Keychron again. The time that I have wasted dealing with their poor quality control and resolution process is worth far more than the amount I paid for the keyboard.
Update: They responded and suggested to send me a part that I solder myself. Unbelievable.
This is not my first mechanical keyboard, but its the first in over 20 years and the first I ever modded.
Board: Keychron Q1 Pro Keycaps: from KBDcraft‘s Kit Adam Spacebar: Nuphy Ghostbar Switches: Gateron G Pro 2.0 Yellow Mods: Tempest tape mod (3 Layers), Durock V2 Stabs (Holee Mod, Lubed, foam pads for housings and wires), Poron switch pads, Polyfill, 1mm silicone sheet instead of case foam
This is the current state and I‘m quite happy with it. The Adam keycaps feel and sound great but I want to try some Akko Asa caps soon and see how they compare to these or the stock SA caps which I also like.
I also ordered some Ink V2 Blacks and some North Pole V2s to try and see if I can get a little bit deeper sound out of them to the make the board a little bit more thock.
Its always a work in Progress. 😄
