Hello, I am thinking of buying a mechanical keyboard (Keychron Q1 Pro). There are three types of switches from which I can choose: Red, Brown, Banana. I have never tried any of them and I cannot really tell how they really feel based on videos / text. What would be your go-to switches and why did you make that choice? Thank you.
I know the answer is "personal preference" but I want to hear your guys' experiences. I'm looking to buy the Q6 Pro and you only save $16 by getting the barebone with no keycaps and switches, so I think it's worth it to just get the prebuilt version.
I'm a total noob to mechanical keyboards. I'm thinking I want browns probably, silent and tactile, but I don't know the real differences between brands like Gateron, Keychron, Kailh, Cherry, etc. Who is premium and who is budget and actually quality? And then each brand has like switch subversions of each version...
Do the lubed switches actually matter?
I'm thinking I can just buy the switches people recommend and I won't also have to buy keycaps, plus I'll have two switch sets as a backup.
I'm going to buy Keychron keyboard and I'm considering Q7 or Q2, but I can't decide what switches to choose and actually I don't know differences between them very well. I'll be using it for gaming and sometimes long typing sessions. Any suggestions? Also, is there big difference between pro and normal version of keychron switches?
