My friend is getting married late June amd advised that the attire should be smart but casual, no fancy suits etc. My wife has purchased a navy blue dress and some pink heels. I was thinking of going with Khakis, Oxfords, a shirt and a tie. I was thinking a tie with navy blue stripes would be good. Help appreciated.
Hey r/weddingplanning!
I'm looking for some advice or guidance on the clothing situation for both me as the groom and for my groomsmen (there's 10 of them).
Details:
Wedding Venue - Outdoor, rustic/upscale barn
Date - Late June
Weather - Likely warmish, cool evening.
In my ideal world, I'm the only one wearing a suit, whereas my groomsmen are wearing pants, off-white shirts, suspenders, bowties, shoes.
What I initially wanted to do was rent my suit, but have my groomsmen purchase their clothes so that they can spend roughly the same but get to KEEP the clothes, as opposed to spending a ton on them to rent for a night.
But what I've come to realize is this may be a pipe dream.
Does anyone have any recommendations on how, or if, this can happen without asking my groomsmen to spend a ton?
Even as I type this, I realize more and more how bad I am with this sort of stuff. Happy to answer any questions that make answering this easier.
