What is a mattress in a box? How long does it take for a Casper mattress to expand?
A mattress in a box is a mattress that’s compressed in an air-sealed bag and rolled tight so that it can fit into a box that’s easier to maneuver than a traditional mattress. This innovation gives you the freedom to explore our mattress collection, compare choices, and order the best mattress for your needs online, all delivered straight to your door.
When you receive the mattress, all you’ll need to do is pull it out of its packaging, lay it flat on your bed frame or floor, and let it expand.
Foam and hybrid mattresses can be slept on almost right away but may take up to 48 hours to expand fully. Our Snow mattresses are primarily made with memory foam and can take up to 72 hours to expand fully.

Best Bed in a Box?
Now the hype with mattress in a box is kind of behind us, and dust have settled. Which brand did stand out?
Like many of you out there it's time for a new bed and the choices seem absolutely overwhelming. The last time I bought a bed, the whole bed in a box thing wasn't even a thing. You went to a store, laid on some beds, then picked one. Now there are all these beds out there that you can try and buy and like the FAQ says, reviews are so often bought and paid for.
I'm coming from a 9 year old Tempurpedic Classic. It feels hard as F**K and honestly I wake up sore almost every day. My SO feels the same way sleeping in my bed. I would guess mine is high on the firmness scale, probably an 8 or 9. I'm mostly a back sleeper but move to my sides at times.
Her bed is a 9 year old Healthcare branded memory foam bed. She LOVES it and I have enjoyed sleeping on it as well. Problem is it's a queen and we want a king. I contacted Healthcare and their support recommends Perfect Cloud, stating it is manufactured in the same facility and is basically the same mattress. She's a stomach and side sleeper. I would guess her bed is a 5-6 firmness.
So with all the brands out there I'm looking to hear what others think, based on their experiences. What bed do you have or what have you tried and what did you think of it? There are sooooo many choices. My own search has me looking at Nectar, Purple, and Casper. However we've also been told to look at Tuft and Needle. I mean there are so many choices. Cost isn't a factor at this point.
I put off getting a new mattress for fourteen years because they’re so expensive in stores. I finally bought one on Amazon after my mom had ordered on Walmart’s website.
I was very apprehensive because we couldn’t try it but I read hundreds of reviews.
It was super cheap. Less than $200 for a queen. This was five years ago.
It’s the best mattress I’ve ever had.
Getting it in the mail is much better than getting it delivered by the store.
