Trying to decide what type of kitchen flooring to go with

Save your money.
A new to you (old) house will have unexpected expenses.
Make it functional add some kind of rolling table. Maybe extra shelves, etc.

I'd integrate the hall parallel to the dining room wall, and perhaps move the wall between the kitchen and dining room if you need more kitchen space. Consider double French doors into the hall from the dining room and sitting room, it will open up space without your losing all your walls.

You can get vinyl tiles that can be grouted. They look pretty convincing and are warm on the feet. Click-lock vinyl plank is also available in a variety of finishes, equally warm on the feet. Porcelain tile is very nice....more expensive and cold, but lots of nice finishes available.

I’m doing a minor kitchen renovation (painting walls and cabinets) and will be putting in a new floor. House is 100 years old and nothing seems to be completely straight. Kitchen currently has vinyl sheet floor and I want to replace it. Have looked at LVT as well as porcelain and ceramic tile. I want to do as much of this myself as I can and was looking for advice on which way to go.
