I often see images of white quartz backsplash behind “professional” gas ranges or in showrooms. I have a Calacatta quartz countertop and am thinking of having it extended to the backsplash, including behind our gas range (GE Cafe 36” Gas). We have white subway tile currently and I’m tired of the gunky grout and also prefer the seamless look. We have an oversized vent hood and the range is installed per manufacturer recommendations, with a small gap between the back of the range and the wall. We don’t often use the back burners, but the oven does vent out of a fan on the back during and after cooking.
I asked the PM of our local fabricator (big shop, high volume) if they have heard of any issues with discoloration or scorching, and was told “no”. However, I see mixed opinions online.
I really like the look and it would be perfect for the space, but I also don’t want to make a $3000 mistake. Hoping for an honest opinion from the pros…thanks in advance!
