Are you tearing out your current tops to put new ones in that will be from the same bundle? Flag 1 is vein matching up the wall if keeping existing toos. Flag 2 which may or may not be an issue but color matching quartz from different batches can vary slightly, not as much of an issue on horizontal panels since light hits differently Edit: i wouldnt take the job unless you redid the current tops Answer from Rum_Hamburglar on reddit.com

Solid Backsplash Behind Stove: The Genius Hack That Saves You Scrubbing!
September 20, 2025 - When we had extra quartz from our counter slabs, I realized I could make my dreams come true—a solid backsplash behind our stove! I’d wanted this for years, and I saw how I could make it happen for free! Should you do quartz for your kitchen remodel? 10 Pros & Cons! Size of our solid surface backsplash is 63″x36″, which works out to just under 16 square feet. Technically, our solid slab backsplash was free (see why here)… · …but let’s say we were to do only the white quartz backsplash all by itself, with our material cost, fabrication and installation cost, our quartz slab backsplash would have cost us about $940.

r/CounterTops on Reddit: Quartz backsplash behind gas range?
August 11, 2023 -

I often see images of white quartz backsplash behind “professional” gas ranges or in showrooms. I have a Calacatta quartz countertop and am thinking of having it extended to the backsplash, including behind our gas range (GE Cafe 36” Gas). We have white subway tile currently and I’m tired of the gunky grout and also prefer the seamless look. We have an oversized vent hood and the range is installed per manufacturer recommendations, with a small gap between the back of the range and the wall. We don’t often use the back burners, but the oven does vent out of a fan on the back during and after cooking.

I asked the PM of our local fabricator (big shop, high volume) if they have heard of any issues with discoloration or scorching, and was told “no”. However, I see mixed opinions online.

I really like the look and it would be perfect for the space, but I also don’t want to make a $3000 mistake. Hoping for an honest opinion from the pros…thanks in advance!

Is it safe to use quartz as a backsplash behind a range?
I have had a Silestone Quartz range backsplash for years now. Absolutely no issues. It looks great and easy to clean!! I have a Samsung gas range. The Silestone backsplash does not even get warm when I use the burners or the oven. The Silestone backsplash and counter looks as good today as the day of installation.

Stunning Quartz Backsplash Design: Pros, Cons & Real Costs - Oak & Grain Home
February 19, 2024 - Compared to a full wall of tile behind the stove, it was about the same cost. Material costs a little more, but we saved a lot on labor. My contractor fell in love with this approach, because what would take a few days to tile took only about 30 mins to install. So it saved us quite a bit of renovation time!
