I have been doing a lot of research and thinking. I am writing my thoughts down to see if they make sense.

Most cheaper kitchen faucets on Amazon are made in China by the same company. Many of them look exactly the same in their posted photos. But, they are not the same.

1. Their listed weights are different. It seems that they are available in different sizes even though their photos look alike. It appears that a heavy faucet can weight twice as much as its lightweight sibling.

2. The sellers varies in terms of how long they have been on Amazon. There are sellers with great reputation for handling their warranties, but their listing can be much more expensive. So, it appears that the extra money you pay is really for an extended warranty.

3. Every faucet including the expensive ones can leak. The failure rate of the cheaper faucets ($66) appears to be the same as the expensive ($200+) faucets. So, this means that you really want to get your faucets from reputable sellers. Note that the really expensive faucets may have lifetime warranties. Or, you can take a super cheap approach ($20) and keep swapping out the defective faucet whenever it fails. Of course, this will cost you a lot of time.

4. Getting replacement from reputation sellers on Amazon seems to be much more convenient than the expensive brand faucet manufacturers. There are reviews that state that the seller will just overnight a replacement to you. Once again, the higher cost of this listing really means that the seller will honor an extended warranty.

So, I think I will get a new faucet from Amazon from a reputable seller. After I swap out my current leaky faucet, I will contact the manufacturer to ask them to honor their lifetime warranty. If I get my faucet repaired or replaced, I will keep it as a spare.
