Utensil trays waste space… and here’s why! 👀 Instead of a pre-sectioned tray, measure your drawer and use individual bins for each category (serving utensils, forks, knives, spoons, etc.). You’ll use every inch of the drawer and everything will actually stay organized!🍴✨ #kitchenorganization #professionalorganizer #homeorganizationhacks | TikTok

We are getting ready to install our new IKEA kitchen and I am wondering which organizers for drawers and shelves that IKEA sells you have found most useful. I have a coupon reward from the purchase of my cabinets and want to use some of it for organizers!

We did our IKEA kitchen about 2 years ago now and love it!! We specifically ordered/planned to use specific organizers for certain drawers when we planned our kitchen but have made tweaks as we have lived with it. We used (and love): the felt drawer organizer for our “junk drawer” — it’s the most organized junk drawer we’ve ever had! the peg board to organize pots and pans in one drawer, two Tupperware drawers, and the measuring cup/cheese grater/kitchen aid mixer attachment etc. drawer the bamboo kitchen utensil holder for forks/spoons/knives the bamboo tray with knife holder insert for our chef’s knife, paring knife, etc. the bamboo trays (with no inserts) all next to each other to fill the entire width of the drawer for cooking utensils (spatula, wooden spoons, flippers, tongs, etc.) the VARIERA pot lid organizer in the cabinet above the hood vent for our cutting boards, loaf pans, and cake pans. This one has been helpful for organization but does move around a bit and requires adjustment every so often Let me know if you’d like photos of any drawer layouts for ideas and I would be happy to take photos in the day time and share!

I learned a lesson when designing my kitchen. I have mostly drawers and when I designed it I didn't realize that you can use high drawers with medium fronts. I changed most of them out to high ones. If you use organizers in most drawers you prob won't need high ones but this wa I'm covered and items won't fall out over the back in the cabinet.

January 1, 2025 - For prepping zone, I like to store everything I need to prep a meal: serving plates and bowls, utensils, knifes, kitchen gadgets, cutting boards, you name it. One good idea for better kitchen organization is to keep the prepping zone next to the cleaning zone, so you can unload clean plates from the dishwasher right to a serveware cabinet. I used Ikea drawer organizer insert to organize all of cutlery items in one small drawer and keep different type of utensils separated.

I have just one drawer in my modular kitchen. And these are all the utensils I need to cook with.
I don't really like the way it is kept, but as you can see, most of the utensils don't really fit wellin the given space. And I have limited spaces, like just 5 of them. Most of my utensils are way taller then them.
I don't have any other drawer and I don't know to organize this and make it look clean, any tips?

A lot of people keep their larger utensils on the counter in a crock or container. Bonus is that they're easily at hand when you are cooking.

Ditch that organizer. You have compartments that only get in the way. Organizers take up their own space,a nd they restrict Get a couple of small, individual organizers that will hold the smallest stuff. The stuff you don't want to have to chase around in, under, and among the larger items. Don't let them be too long or too large for the stuff you want to store in there. Focus on those small things, and group them by purpose, style, shape, and see what compact storage would fit them without a lot of wasted space. This particular supplier/brand has a lot of different options. https://www.michaels.com/product/idesign-plastic-drawer-organizer-10728062 Stick those boxes to the bottom or sides of the drawer with multiple tiny dots of poster putty, if necessary, so they themselves don't shift. Let the large and awkward things float around. And nest with one another. Here are pics of my kitchen drawers. https://imgur.com/a/kitchen-drawer-organization-Y6OiaWx You'll see that I have employed this idea a few times. Small stuff in an organizing compartment; large and oddly shaped stuff loose in the rest of the drawer.
