I do almost everything with the classic Buck 110. The only exception is skinning fish filet. You need a long, flexible blade for that. More on reddit.com

if you had to chose one knife to take hunting with you what would it be? Or do you take several? I’ve always used the outdoor edge replacement blade type knives but they don’t have much backbone. Any recommendations? More on rokslide.com

July 3, 2022 - Myself, I would recommend Buck and Benchmade. I have owned and used both and they are excellent. I particularly like the Benchmade Grizzly Creek and North Fork and the Buck 110, 112, and 500, for folding hunters. I also prefer fixed blade hunting knives, but folding hunters have their place.

skinning knife & filet knifes are different. I would go 2 cheaper knives. You can buy a outdoor knife kit or field dressing kit that comes with different knives for fairly cheap. If you buy one, step 1 is to throw a few nitrile gloves in it.

November 14, 2023 - I own a few of the outdoor edge razor blade knives. I like them but they dull much faster and care is needed using razor blades blindly inside a carcass when hands are in the same area with the blades. ... A sharp one. ... Rapid River Knifeworks Mackinaw is my favorite. Just ordered a second one for my son to commemorate the big buck he took this year. ... Bought my son his first hunting knife at RR knife works when he turned 14 and came up in his first rifle hunt.

Knives!Do I have knives?! They are everywhere- bayonets, machetes, kukris, fixed and balisongs and other folders- seems we archers love blades of all kinds-goes with the territory. Currently, a Spyderco clipped in the right front pocket as the go-to working knife. Broke the tip during something stupid-prying- so reground to a stronger tanto-type. Hunting- a Marble’s Woodcraft with bird’seye maple or a Fallkniven S-1- both great fixed blades that’ll shave your shave.

November 19, 2015 - I've become a little bit of a knife snob in the past couple years and my favorite is a frankenstein Buck crosslock. I replaced the 420 blade on it w/ a Cabelas Alaskan guide s30v cross lock blade (didn't like their handle at the time), hands down the best knife to ever cross my path. The Alaskan guide knives are worth their weight in gold, and they are 20% right now!
