I hated Wake Up Dead Man *NO Spoilers*
It was my personal favorite (though I probably need to see how it holds up on rewatches) but I can also see how it could be considered the least entertaining for some. I can think of at least 3 changes that might have contributed to it. Firstly, the movie felt like it centered more on the lead than the others did, so if you weren't interested in the character it would just fall flat. Second, this is the first murder victim who kinda deserved it and the victims weren't nearly as unlikable as they were in the others to balance it out. Finally, it felt like WUDM played with the whodunnit formula the least. For a good chunk of Knives Out you think you're following the killer, and in Glass Onion you get that flashback which recontextualizes a lot of what's going on. WUDM only really had the red herring about if Jud was the killer but that's been done before. More on reddit.com

Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery ( 2025): For me this is easily the best of the three knives out mysteries! Very pleasantly surprised here. Great back and forth takes on faith and religion that doesn't feel condescending in any way. Also was damn funny.
So I think the first one is the best, and I liked the second a whole lot actually, but not this one as much. I admit it is a good movie, but the way these religious people talked did not feel realistic. Things like when the lady said something about how she has a lot of Psalms in her Bible of bitterness....the religious people I know, the Catholics I know, do not talk like that. Glass Onion was actually really good imo. The layers coming off on that island they were all stuck on, everyone had something to hide, etc.... Happy to see this movie happen, though. Hopeful for the next one! More on reddit.com

Upon his arrival, though, he realises that this is quite an eccentric little congregation led by the mildly megalomaniacal “Monsignor” (Josh Brolin) and his ever so slightly menacing factotum “Martha” (Glenn Close). The new arrival isn’t universally welcome, especially when he tries to impose his own more religious approach to parish affairs, and then somewhat out of the blue, the older churchman...
