I'm looking between the Kraus Standart PRO 36" and the Kohler strive undermount K-5415. Both have the same gauge thickness, but at 400 and 1200 respectively, what's the value out of the Kohler?

Don’t know about comparing the two, but I bought a Krauss drop in sink and faucet from Build.com and I am extremely happy with them two years later. I never by any appliances or fixtures from blue or orange because they screw with the product. I always recommend buying from direct plumbing suppliers. Build.com is Ferguson. They have both Krauss and Kohler.

We went with the Kohler K-5540 Prolific sink, we absolutely love it, so I'm sure you'll be fine with your choice, they make a very solid product. However I won't be the only one to tell you to get a single bowl sink, not a dual one. We used to have a dual sink, and have not looked back since. Even more useful is the accessories that came with our sink, we regularly use the drying racks, colander/washbin, and cutting board. Beware that you will need to support the sink, and perhaps have some kind of splashguard so that water doesn't drip on top of your cabinet doors/drawer front and ruin them. More on reddit.com

The interior dims of a 36" cabinet is 34.5", so putting a 33" sink only allows 3/4" on each side to get the clips/hardware in there. Prob can't go any bigger than that. I'm doing my kitchen right now and went with the Kraus workstation undermount sink. More on reddit.com

Even with well made enamelled cast iron cookware like Le Creuset, chips inevitably happen. That's because cooking and cleaning can be rough and tumble events. I would never buy an enamelled cast iron sink for the kitchen. Stainless steel is the only way to go. More on reddit.com
