Hey all, Trying to remove my tub spout (model unknown, came with house) so I can soak it to remove buildup/repair the diverter. I'm no dummy but this sure is making me feel like one even as an engineer and one time plumbers assistant.
Can't see anything from the rear access panel either.
No set screws that I can see (even in sides inside hole). Doesn't want to budge as a thread off either. Before I start cranking on this thing I wanted to consult the interwebs first.

Looks to be a threaded connection. So it should just unscrew counterclockwise. Noting that I always tell the customer there's a possibility s*** will break in the wall and then we'll have to fix that. As long as I tell you that it could break in the wall it doesn't. I dislike threaded connections on my tubspouts for this reason.....

Can’t find correct replacement for Kohler shower/tub faucet.
Kohler is really good with helping customers identify parts. You can send them a photo of what you have and they will identify it. I've even had video chats with them to solve issues. But that looks like a K-304 pressure balance valve. More on reddit.com

May 17, 2024Just installed this Kohler Cursiva tub and shower set. Installed exactly to specs. Water is coming out of the back of the tub spout when I engage the diverter.
Tighten spout on copper stub out better. More on reddit.com

Existing tub faucet and shower are Kohler. I always thought the different brands had their own unique valves, so stuck with Kohler. I bought and tried 2 different kohler units and none fit. Did Kohler change? What brand or model can i get so i dont have to replace the entire valve/plumbing unit?
Im not a plumber or handyman, but i do just about everything around the house myself, forgive me if i’m using any incorrect terminology.
This is what i had. Any help or direction is greatly appreciate.
