Stagemaster and Showmaster models where built from 1999 to 2002. The 24 Series models were built from 2002 to 2004. The Master Series models where built from 2004 to 2007. During the mid-90's Squiers were built at two factories. They had serial numbers starting with CN and VN.

The serial number of the guitars manufactured in the Samick factory had the S9 or S1 prefix and was also printed in black ink. The tuning machines of the first Korean Squiers Stratocasters made in Young Chang were the Fender/Gotoh Standard type, like those used in Japan, while guitars built in Samick or Sung Eum were usually fitted with unbranded Standard tuners or with the cheaper Jin Ho covered tuning machines.

Although Fender began producing Fender and Squier instruments in Korea in 1988, its digital records only go back to mid-1993, with little if any information available on serial numbering from 1988 through 1992. It is accepted that there were serial numbers with and without letter prefixes at that time, but as definitive information is lacking, serial-number dating for Korean instruments made before 1993 is highly uncertain.

The VN5 black logo strats are somewhat of an oddity by the way as they have a different headstock then you find on any other CN/VN model. Ya find the CN/VN serial numbers on the headstocks from 92' to 97 except on the VN5 black logo model.

*E0 made by Saehan in 1990 E1 plus 5 digits black serial number made by Saehan in 1990 E1 in Silver is Samick otherwise E9 is Young Chang If a silver logo and if a black logo is probably Samick but maybe Cort no proof either way but my inclination is Cort. See the Squier page for more on these E9s It is worth noting that there are some J serial numbers about like the M serial numbers these are 1990 to 1992 for different geographical areas.

Because the number was placed on a sticker it is fairly common for the serial number to be missing. Some more recent Squiers, including the Vintage Modified series (serial numbers starting with SH), were introduced in 2007.
