Why are there L-shaped house plans?
L-shaped house plans allow homeowners to maximize the use of their square footage by providing room for ample living space and multiple bedrooms. In addition, L-shaped designs offer easy access to an outdoor area, such as a patio or courtyard.
What style is an L-shaped house?
While the L-shaped house can be adapted to suit just about any home style, it originated as an asymmetrical version of ranch house plans. Today, there are L-shaped floor plans for Mediterranean home designs, Farmhouse homes, and even Craftsman houses.
Is an L shape house plan a good idea?
L-shaped house plans are especially beneficial to homeowners in areas with hot summers or cold winters. L-shaped houses can offer privacy and protection from the elements due to the sheltered courtyard they form. Additionally, the design of the house allows homeowners to make efficient use of their available space while providing plenty of room for outdoor access.
I’m looking to build an L-shaped home in the tropics, with a “Florida” type fully screened in area in the L.
I want a very simple plan, with 6 exterior corners. I’m not finding one. Simple plans are all topping out at about 1400 sq ft. But I need 4 bedrooms and an office, so I really need those extra feet. The size I want comes with a bunch of architectural elements I don’t want.
Where do I look for this? (I even tried AI but got nothing useful) I’m hoping for a plan with the Owner’s suite at the opposite end from the other bedrooms, and a 2 car garage, but at this point I’d be happy just to see L-shaped and 2000 feet.
Hey so I've been futzing around with this design for a long time, curious what people's thoughts are. Orientation to the street is north/south. 2 beds on main floor but basement is finished including a 3rd bed, media room, and gym, though I am only posting the main floor. Great Room/living area has fully vaulted ceiling, and the master BR may as well, with attic/mechanical space above the garage and rest of private/sleeping part of the L. Yes I made this in Visio 2013 thx for noticing :)
