What do you think of this floor plan I made? (1 story 3 bedroom house)
L shaped floor plans
Difficulty searching for simple 2000 sq ft L-shape
Why are there L-shaped house plans?
L-shaped house plans allow homeowners to maximize the use of their square footage by providing room for ample living space and multiple bedrooms. In addition, L-shaped designs offer easy access to an outdoor area, such as a patio or courtyard.
What style is an L-shaped house?
While the L-shaped house can be adapted to suit just about any home style, it originated as an asymmetrical version of ranch house plans. Today, there are L-shaped floor plans for Mediterranean home designs, Farmhouse homes, and even Craftsman houses.
Is an L shape house plan a good idea?
L-shaped house plans are especially beneficial to homeowners in areas with hot summers or cold winters. L-shaped houses can offer privacy and protection from the elements due to the sheltered courtyard they form. Additionally, the design of the house allows homeowners to make efficient use of their available space while providing plenty of room for outdoor access.

We currently have a small 10x22 (220 sq ft) structure on our property. We’re adding a new 600 sq ft section to it, which will connect and create an L-shaped layout.
The plan is that the new 600 sq ft build will connect into the existing 220 sq ft with a door and wall, so they’ll flow together but still be distinct spaces.
Altogether that gives us about 820 sq ft total. We need to fit in: • Kitchen + living room (preferably open concept) • 2 bedrooms • 1 bathroom
Since the shape is kind of tricky, I’d love ideas, sketches, or inspiration for how to make this work!
