20 mil wear layer and comes out to ~$2.16/sqft. I have 3 toddlers and a dog, curious if this will hold up to abuse. Wanted to get some advice before pulling the trigger as we’d need about 900 sq ft.

Here's what I do to test floors I haven't used before. Take a car key. A sharp one, not a rounded off key fob flip out key. An actual cut key. Try and scratch some in the store with it. You'd be surprised how often just light pressure will make a big mark in some lower quality stuff. I've also seen stuff that even pressing as hard as I could and really trying to make a mark, I couldn't.

The current floors are mostly old, stained carpet upstairs and half of the downstairs with the other downstairs half being Brazilian Cherry Floors that aren’t in the best of shape (and are VERY red which I’m not a fan of). Re-staining the floors and laying new woods to match isn’t an option as we got a quote for over $20k to do this. We picked up some of the Millport Hickory laminate flooring at Costco since it’s on sale right now for $1.59/sq ft and laid it out downstairs.

Hey yall I've been searching for floors for the past few months not sure exactly what I wanted/ wanting to spend either. Yesterday I found these ones and I really like the pattern, and most importantly the price! as a house with 3 cats and a senior dog that can barely control her blatter. I'm really leaning to them as my front runner but before I pull the trigger on 1000 sqft I have some quick questions.
Are they water resistant like they say?
Could a newbie install them? ( I do heavy construction for the past 6 years so I'm definitely comfortable with tools )
Will they age well or am I wasting my money by trying to save a few bucks

Has anyone installed or has this flooring? It’s definitely priced very low compared to the Mohawk LVP next to it, I do like that it’s produced with a more eco-friendly approach but sometimes that means a sacrifice in durability… so y’all have any thoughts?
I’ve been looking at flooring for months at this point and kind of paralyzed by the variety of material, quality, and brands. Initially I was going to go with engineered hardwood but I like the ease of a floating floor which seems is mostly LVP.

Mohawk employee here! I’m actually surprised to see Walker Creek in Costco. Didn’t know we were selling that in big box stores now. To put your mind at ease, both of these floors will perform just fine. You won’t be sacrificing durability for the eco-friendly product. It’s made with an aluminum oxide wear layer because it has no PVC in it. It’s more scratch resistant than the traditional LVT. Considering you have 3 dogs, that’s the product I would recommend.
