Im usually pretty good at researching products but I’m having a hard time believing that there’s no landline product that won’t let me pair a set of EarPods/headphones.
I almost bought a dumb phone to keep for emergency incoming calls (like parents, doctors offices, etc) while I put my iPhone away. But I saw there are phones where you can connect your smartphone to the “landline” style cordless phone with Bluetooth. So phone calls go from your cell phone to the cordless phone. That way, you can put your phone in the cabinet and have it connected to the cordless phone so any important calls can come through. I ordered the AT&T DL72219 DECT 6.0 2-Handset Cordless Phone on Amazon for $59.99. Will update on how it works out. If it doesn’t work out, I’m going to try the xlink BT HD Bluetooth connector $63. This actually creates the Bluetooth connection to ANY old landline phones. Even the old rotary phones! I almost got this but I would also have to buy a cordless phone so I decided to try the other option first since it was cheaper. The reviews on the xlink BT HD were definitely the best out of all the options. I saw they had cell2jack Bluetooth connector for $37 but the reviews were meh. Anyway, I just thought I’d share this since I had no idea this existed.
Edited to add: I do know about internet based “landlines,” however, we don’t have WiFi 🫣 and even if we did I don’t want to pay for a monthly subscription for it.
UPDATE works sooo well!!! Even when I have my phone on silent, my phone still rings which is awesome because half the time it’s on silent and I forget! My contacts were able to easily download onto on the phone via Bluetooth. No issues with sound quality. I can put my phone away in the cabinet near the base, but hear the “landline” phone ring when my cell phone rings. This is exactly what I was looking for as a SAHM who’s trying to be off their phone without having to miss an important phone call.
