Assuming this model doesn't have soldered ram, you can add ram later as needed. And the ssd can be swapped if you ever need to. The core i5 is already massive overkill for your listed uses, so I wouldn't pay an extra 200 for the i7. More on reddit.com

Any laptop that doesn't have a dedicated GPU, It will never run Genshin Impact smootly. Always stay away from those, do not buy one. You'll regret it as I did. Endend up buying 2 laptop instead of one, because that one with integrated gpu was running genshin at 20/35 fps lowest settings. It was just a nightmare. Now I'm running at high settings with stable 60fps, it never drops! (Rtx 3060 laptop) Also nobody is mentioning that this laptop has only 512gb SSD, while genshin impact it selfs tooks around 110 gb and with natlan release probably will go more than 140+ gb, windows 11 it selfs is around 150 gb. So you'll end up with no space, you need to get at least 1TB SSD or 2TB SSD. More on reddit.com

Looking at two HP Envy laptops at Bestbuy.
Both 13th gen, one is a i7 (1355U), 16gb, 1tb and the other is an i5 (1335U), 8gb ram, 512 storage.
Is the i7 and the ram worth $230 more?
I'm not a gamer at all, I mostly use it for writing, browsing (for research on the writing) and watching YouTube, etc. Maybe the occasional picture edit but nothing fancy at all.
Im sure 512 is enough storage so it's really a question of the processor and ram.
I'm coming from a MacBook for the last 12 years, been a while since I bought a Windows machine.
