I’ve had some bad luck with trying to keep things alive on my porch, which gets a good amount of direct sunlight in the hottest part of the afternoon.
There’s things I can do to mitigate this threat with shade and placement, to some extent, but a good amount of my available real estate gets cooked in the hot part of the day.
Aside from cacti what else can I put out there without having to worry about it getting destroyed?

Hello!! I'm a relatively new plant parent and need some recommendations.
I live in an apartment with large floor to ceiling windows that get ample direct sunlight in the evenings over the summer. I used to keep several large calatheas there during the dark winter months, but now that the sun is showing again, I've had to move them to a shadier spot. So the area by the windows is looking sad and empty now, and I'd like to fill it with large, leafy/bushy plants that can tolerate direct sun. So far I've gotten a medium-sized snake plant, but it's not big enough to fill out the space (and the large ones are sooo expensive!).
So I'm looking for suggestions for some new big, sturdy, sun-loving plants:) Thanks!!
