Which laser printer should I get?
Hi r/philippines. Where can I buy a laser printer for less than 5k?
I bought a monochrome Brother laser printer from PC Express around a year ago. Forgot the exact price but it was 5k+, but less than 6k. Cartridge World also sells monochrome laser printers, I believe. You might want to call a nearby branch to ask.
Laser printer buying tip from /r/Frugal (excerpt):
TLDR: Look for a model that has separate toner and drum replacements. Those can save you quite a bit without the risk introduced by dodgy refills.
The right approach is to use a printer whose toner and drum are separate assemblies. This lets you replace the toner as it runs out and replace the drum as it wears out, at whatever rate that might be given your usage.
Most (or all - not sure) Brother laser printers are like that. The toner and drum are separate replacements.
/r/hardware also mostly recommends Brother laser printers.
More on reddit.comYSK Your laser printer may be forcing you to buy unnecessary and expensive toner by displaying low toner messages before it is empty and refusing to print. You can save hundreds (thousands?) a year by manually overwriting this. Instructions for Brother 9015CDW in text, Google for your own brand.
Which Laser Printer to Buy? [UK]
Color and multifunction are going to be the downfall of anything reliable. So far the only reliable printers I have ever had were all Brother monochrome. My current color laser is going strong 3 years later, that is a Brother HL-3170CDW.
I recommend buying a scanner separate. I have not found a single decent MFP that wasn't a full size office copier.
More on reddit.comI'm done with inkjet printers, I only print a couple pages every now and then and the ink is constantly drying up on me, I know I could just not have a printer and do printing at my local library or print service if I rarely print but I like to be able to have a printer to just print/copy on demand whenever I need to, and with how little I print the starter toner will probably last me 5 years or more
Trying to decide between these two laser printers, I've read that HP and Brother make really good laser printers, I'm leaning more toward the HP because ice read that the colors are better and the internal components (drum and fuses) last longer than on the Brother
