Does the free version of Lastpass allow you to use fingerprint authentication on a mobile device?

Yes.

The premium fingerprint "MFA" (which it isn't) is only for Windows desktop.

Using biometric access on new device
It's a bit late now if you haven't got any one-time backup codes and/or the original device you used to create the LastPass account. Either option would allow you to change the "master password". LastPass can never "reset" your account for you because the password is only ever encrypted on your device and never on LastPass servers. In short, unless you can find your old phone or, by some miracle, you can remember the password, you are very unlikely to regain access to your LastPass account More on reddit.com

Fingerprint unlock not working in apps on Android 10
I am having this problem daily recently. Which is strange because I thought the fingerprint was all handled by Android itself. Sorry I have no suggestions on how to solve it. Didn’t know that opening the app directly would work - I’ll try that next time, thanks. More on reddit.com

r/Lastpass on Reddit: LastPass Biometrics and Password Reset
March 28, 2024 -

I can log into lastpass on my phone with my fingerprint because I enabled biometrics but, because I've been using my finger so long I have forgotten my master password. I want to change it since I have access to the account and I'm logged in (verified) by fingerprint but it still wants my old password. Is there anyway to reset the master password if you don't have the old password but still can get in with your fingerprint? I once had biometics stop working on my phone and had to delete the entire account. I don't want that to ever happen again but need to add a lot of important passwords. I'm not going to use Lastpass if it's possible losing my phone or whatever means I lose ALL my passwords. Any ideas?

So, apologies if this is a dumb question but, I lost my old phone and conveniently can't seem to find where I wrote down my master password. This is a bit of a long shot, I know but, is there any way to log into lastpass on my new phone via fingerprint without having to actually log in and enable it? In my mind, it's conceivable that they could have my fingerprint on record or something. Like I said, longshot, I know. anyways, any help would be greatly appreciated! Also, I promise, I have exhausted every other avenue of account recovery, otherwise I wouldn't be here, trust

r/Lastpass on Reddit: Fingerprint unlock not working in apps on Android 10
February 17, 2021 -

When I am in a browser, for example, and I try to log in to a website, the LastPass box appears as expected and prompts me for my fingerprint. It will not accept my fingerprint at all and after a few tries will log me out of my account.

If I instead minimize the browser and open the LastPass app directly, it will again prompt my for my fingerprint, but it works perfectly.

In other words, the little popup box for LastPass's autofill feature does not seem to be able to use biometrics unlock on my phone. It only works if I open up the full LastPass app.

Anyone else have this problem, or know how to fix it?

edit: in light of the recent changes in pricing, I switched to BitWarden and the Android app works perfectly. The import process was also seamless. Much happier with BitWarden.
