LastPass password manager Why is the LastPass Password Manager program not available for downloads in the iTunes or Apple store for use in Safari on the MacBook? Several other password manager programs are available to download as an app but not LastPass. Instead, I have to download the extension from their website, open it in applications and enable it in Safari Preferences.

If Safari is missing LastPass Extension, try uninstalling LastPass and then downloading it from LastPass.com. The extension was missing when I download from the App Store but it showed up via the LastPass download. Bizarre.

After installing Lastpass you then need to manually turn the extension on in Safari -> Preferences. I got a "Safari detected an app or service that interfered with clicking..." message but went past it. Honestly, this shouldn't be such an ordeal. I'm probably going to switch off Lastpass at some point.

I downloaded the app and still no extension. And what’s really annoying is there is not anything in the app or the app preferences about the extension. Like click here for extension or something. About ready to ditch LastPass too.

It's too bad that Apple doesn't tell its users what the PID or service name is that's causing this issue to happen. 🤷‍♂️

Hi, I'm really struggling with this, I've just got a new macbook and unable to download the lastpass extension, it just sends me to the desktop and downloads the desktop app. I'm completely lost, the documentation says to download the safari extension, but I simply can't seem to get to it. Any help would be much appreciated as LastPass support guy couldn't seem to help either

I don't have experience of this on Lastpass, but I know that 1Password users on Mac need to download the desktop app to install the Safari extension. Something changed at Apple which meant this was the only way to get it to work. Have you tried installing the desktop app?

I have the LastPass app downloaded from the app store and I have the LastPass icon in my menu bar but the LastPass extension. I right-clicked on Safari toolbar and there's no LastPass option. I don't use Safari everyday, but I think this is a new problem since I installed Big Sur. Has anyone else experienced this? Better yet, does anyone have a fix for it?

To FIX the missing Last Pass extension on MAC (Big Sur). You need to install the OLDER version of the Mac app. NOT the one in the App Store. the one found on their download page: https://lastpass.com/misc_download2.php install and RUN THAT version. it should then mention installing the safari extension. OR, if you had an old one installed it may not. Then, in Safari, you should be able to go to Preferences, and click the Extensions tab. The Last pass extension should now be there on the left for you to enable.

Still can't get past the info box. ... Since the issue persists even after clearing the cache and cookies, it might be helpful to reinstall the LastPass extension. Could you try removing the extension from Safari and then adding it back again?

I thought this would be more prevalent, but I searched here and saw no other post on this..

As described on title, starting from v 4.94.0 I only get a blank window when trying to access password via the safari extension, this basically makes last pass useless on this browser. I tried following instructions here: https://support.lastpass.com/help/how-do-i-troubleshoot-or-uninstall-the-lastpass-for-safari-app-extension-lp010142

and it did not help. I also tried uninstalling last pass and starting from scratch, that did not help either.

Has anyone figured out how to resolve this?

Update: Just come off the phone to LastPass support and they advised me that this is a known issue and they are working on a fix - no ETA can be provided yet though. Advice was that in the meantime I use a different browser. Very disappointing. I did advise them that as a paying customer - it's a hard sell to continue paying for this product when there are better free alternatives.

Same issue, I think it's a bug affecting lastpass on M1 macs. Someone else in this forum was saying it's a known issue and Lastpass is working on a fix.
