I do not like their chairs but the consistency of family buying them is predictable. I cannot identify the difference in quality over the year, and if anything thing it may have improved some. Their sofas and loveseats are absolutely better than their old chairs from what I can tell. Worst thing I have seen is I had to tighten some nuts and bolts under one for a family member not too long ago. My father had one that had completely sunk in after like 20 years of use but all the mechanisms etc seemed fine. Luckily steel is relatively cheap to manufacture with. More on reddit.com

You will get lots of recommendations from people who have old La-Z-Boy pieces, grew up with La-Z-Boy, etc. Old La-Z-Boy were built well, using stick built solid wood frames. New La-Z-Boy, since the last 20 years or so are no longer built that way. About 20 years ago they totally changed their manufacturing methods utilizing computer controlled routers and cutting all the parts out of sheets of plywood. The machines can cut the pieces quickly and in a very precise and consistent way. The precision cut pieces are much easier to assemble into furniture. The benefit to La-Z-Boy was greatly reduced labor and therefore assembly cost. Unfortunately, the plywood kit frames are not as durable as the original solid wood ones were. I know these details because I was a part of the project as a vendor. This method has subsequently become the industry standard in high production manufacturers. If you want furniture with a traditionally built frame, you will have to seek that out specifically. More on reddit.com

La-Z-Boy sectional owner here! Purchased 2013, full leather, still going strong. Clean and condition once a year with the stuff they gave me at purchase. No wear or tear other than what the movers scraped during my last move. Selling before our next move due to style/space, and the local resale shop is giving us nearly $1000. Highly recommend.
