I am considering buying one new; ideally Flame, Cerise or Marseille, but I am not firm on color. From what I have looked through on Amazon, looks like the cheapest the signature round 7.25 QT gets (when sold by Amazon) is $250, while I am not really seeing a lot of variation in the price of the 9 QT from ~ $500.
I am not in any hurry, but I don't think I could make it to the outlet store -- they are too far off from where I live. I understand from searching this site that sales occasionally happen every now and then, not clear to me how deep the discount gets for these two pieces?
I wouldn't mind getting the oval or deep variants, just want to get something large so in the 7 - 9 QT range.

The 8 quart oval is currently on sale for $350 from a few authorized retailers. I did notice the actual Le Creuset website has ended that sale for the 8 quart so you may want to swoop in on that deal. Also a lot of the outlets actually ship if you want to call around and see what deals they may have. Edit- there’s actually some 8 quart ovals in limited colors floating around at $300 I found one at Cutlery and more in cerise

January 7, 2022Does the 9 quart LC make sense for normal recipies?
Bigger isn’t always better. You’re not buying in bulk here. You’re buying a tool. Right size is way better than the wrong size. I have most sizes. The ones that gets the most use are 5-5.5qt. They’re just a good all around size. If you’re cooking for more people though, bigger is better. If this is your first and only LC, I’d go with the 7.25. The 9 is just that much heavier and a little big if you’re not making large batches of food. Most home cook stock pots are 8qts. Would you cook every meal with a stock pot? More on reddit.com
