Costco Direct - Ridgewin Leather Power Reclining Sofa Question
Has anyone purchased Alba Leather Power Reclining Sofa? Would you recommend it?
Question about Ridgewin Leather Power Reclining Sofa
Testing that as I type. The answer is not entirely, but it may still work for you as you can easily get back to that position. I'll explain. As you press forward on the footrest button, the base of the unit dips slightly while moving forward and raising the footrest. When the footrest gets to its upright position, the back will have started to tip back a bit. The key and what you'll care about is that the backrest of the unit uses a separate control/switch on the side, and it allows you to move the back forward once the footrest is raised. This makes the back completely upright again. I am assuming nothing has changed in the design on the sofa since I purchased one in January. Since I use it exactly how you plan to all the time and it works perfectly for me, I think it will work fine for you as well. Unrelated to your question, but the only caveat I should mention is that the footrests are not real long and my ankles rest a little bit past the end. The sofa is very comfortable when reclining, whether that be as an upright recliner and or with the whole seat as flat as possible.

So I'm not a Costco member and I live 40 mins away from the nearest one. Not really worth it to have a membership but I just bought a house and need a reclining sofa. I saw on Slickdeals their ad for the sofa listed above. The item number is 1653285. The retail price is $1500 and the sale price is $1200. It looks like a really nice reclining sofa and of course has the Costco return policy that I keep hearing about being so good. This helps me get over the fact it's electric. It also has really good reviews.
My question to this subreddit is that I called the two nearest Costco's to me. One is 40 mins away and the other is 90 mins away. Neither of them had the item in stock and when I asked what a Costco Direct item is they told me those items are most likely online only.
I wanted to take the trip, go into the store which they said I could and then try out the sofa and see if I liked it and then join to buy it.
But it seems that if it is true that the item is online only I would have to buy it online without trying it and then if I don't like it I have to ferry it back to a store to return it.
Is it true that these are online only? It just seems weird to me that they would have large furniture like this where you couldn't try it out first.
Thanks for the insight.
Also if anyone has this item please let me know how you like it and how tall the back rest is. I want to know if it would fully support the head of a 5' 11'' person sitting normally.
It seemed fine at the store, but it wasn’t powered so I wasn’t able to check the reclining features. Also, did the delivery unpack it and place it where you asked them to?
