Starting with the power vs manual: power is the ways to go for all the reasons above that you stated, if you’re worried about the lifespan of mechanisms. Usually the first thing to go is the motor which usually is due to power surge. You will definitely want to have this protected with the extended warranty if it covers surge and is inexpensive enough, if not definitely power it up using a good surge protector. The motor itself is usually inexpensive and the labor you can do yourself. Most manufactures design the motor right under the seats and can be easily replaced. The Frame and mechanism is usually warranted by the manufacturer for at-least 5-10 years of not lifetime. Definitely check the manufacturer warranty’s of the product you want to purchase. The Loki: it states it’s a faux leather, I would very much ask what actual materials are being used. Faux mean fake, which is a dangerous game when it comes to furniture. These tend to peel and fade if using cheap materials. If your budget limits you from getting real leather then I would very much look for polyester fabric leather look alike. They will have the look and slight feel of leather but the durability of polyester. I will say this, it is very much possible to find a leather/vinyl match sections around the $2500-2999 price range.
