I want to get brighter lightbulbs, but I am confusing myself trying to figure out what I can use. The fixture says max 60w. I checked the ones I have in there, and one of them is 9w, 750 lumens (LED), and the other one is 72w, 1270 lumens (not sure if this one is LED or not). I didn't realize one was over the wattage limit.
If I search on Lowes for light bulbs and filter by 60w, it seems like almost all of them are 800 lumens. Is there any way to get more lumens than that without exceeding 60w? Or am I not properly understanding the wattage limit?

The maximum amount of power you can draw with a light bulb in the fixture is 60W. So the bulb must draw no more than 60W. LED bulbs draw significantly less power than conventional incandescent bulbs, so an LED equivalent of a 60W incandescent bulb will draw something like 10W or less. Something to be aware of is that some packaging for LED light bulbs still might mention the traditional "brightness" equivalency in Watts, but, again, they actually only draw a fraction of the power.

A rough guide is that commercial LEDs these days have a luminous efficacy of abt 100 lumens per watt. Thus, if you want to limit the power in the fixture to 60W, you can go up to abt 6,000 lumens. This is quite bright, and I don't think you can find a "standard" screw-in bulb this bright. However, some of those screw-in bulbs that have three adjustable-position panels can be quite bright.
