I installed some footwell LED strips on my car, and just leave them on to red 100% of the time. They are wired directly to the car and the dome lights so they turn white when I open the doors. All of my interior lights are red (steering wheel buttons, climate control, radio, etc) so it matches. Pros: Helps me see if I drop anything at night Cons: Can MAYBE get in trouble with an officer if you ever pulled over and they see the red? If you like them that is all that matters! When I got my Fiesta ST it had the led strips you could change the colors on and I thought it was awesome for a day or two then I just left them off - that would be the only downside but that was just me.

Please don't use those in reflector housings. Even in fog light reflectors, the cutoff isn't designed for the intensity of those lights and they will glare-blind oncoming drivers. Reflector housings should only have incandescent bulbs, never LEDs. LEDs need projector housings and a really sharp cutoff to avoid glare because of their higher intensity and the shape of the light produced. More on reddit.com

The lumen output of bulbs diminishes as they get older. Get some Sylvania or Koito stock replacement bulbs . Also polish your housings if they're yellowing or replace them. Stay away from LED retrofits. LED bulbs in a reflector housing is going to completely screw up your light pattern, including blinding oncoming traffic. ETA: It looks like there were projector headlights as an option on those rams. You can swap out your headlights for the OEM projector lights that use a 9012 bulb, which is a fantastic bulb for lumen output. More on reddit.com

I was thinking of getting some of those LED light strips from Autozone that go in your car and plug in to the cigarette lighter. Does anyone have any pros or cons regarding these LED strips? Any reasons why I shouldn't get them? I think they look really cool and I like the way you can change the color and patterns.

March 6, 2022 - Never heard of these guys before but I've always wanted LED city and rear license lights but I've always had error codes, so I gave up on it. Not cheap for city lights ($40) , but if it works, it'll be worth it. ... I’ve gotten plenty of bulbs from them. Zero problems and zero lights on dash. I stand by deautokey. Their interior set is amazing.
