Hi all,
Wondering if anyone knows of something like leetcode SQL 50 but for more advanced coders that they can share? I have already completed it multiple times and trying to find a source that has very difficult sql questions to prep as I often get tricky ‘got you’ type of sql questions during code screens that are also timed so I need to practice. Please share if you have any ideas thank you.

Look at DataLemur , lot more focused on DE/DA and sourced from recent real job interviews at competitive companies (FB, Google, Amazon, TikTok, Airbnb)

Doing 10–15 solid ones is enough if you understand the core concepts. Then shift to the StrataScratch platform, which offers more realistic business scenarios. Not conventional but I’d recommend going straight to the solutions of all 50 problems and understanding them as well as you can. Use an LLM to help explain it if you need. Go back and solve all the problems after a couple weeks. More on reddit.com

December 19, 2025Is practicing SQL questions from Leetcode good enough for interviews?
It’s a great start and could get you through but also depends on what you plan to do with SQL for a job. I suggest building out a database from scratch with open data sources, going from an ER diagram to database, to dashboard. Thinking about OLAP vs OLTP. Learn about 3NF, ACID, and etc. The reason is that many jobs may not require this as a necessity but your engineers will appreciate the understanding of it. The complications involved of ingesting dirty data and making it available for others to use gets lost in the background easily. I can’t think of a role that wouldn’t benefit some fundamentals of this outside of DDL/DML statements More on reddit.com

Hi guys,
I am in process of becoming a data analyst and I need your honest input please. Does leetcode resemble what data analyst interviews ask? I am trying to finish the Leetcode 50 SQL questions but they are really hard and overwhelming so any response will be appreciated. If you can also mention what kind of SQL skills are genuinely needed to pass the interviews, i would really appreciate it!

As the title.
I’ve just started practicing sql 50 on leetcode and I was stuck at the 5th or 6th question itself. Sometimes I feel that I wouldve been able to answer if I understood the question. The questions sometimes sound confusing there and I am not able to understand them until I see the solution.
Anybody who went through this and would have any guidance? Would really appreciate it.

Sometimes I feel that I wouldve been able to answer if I understood the question. The questions sometimes sound confusing there and I am not able to understand them until I see the solution. This is intentional. Companies that employ this purposefully ask questions that have ambiguous or misleading requirements because they expect you to ask clarifying questions about it. When solving in a vacuum that, of course, doesn't help, but part of solving such leetcode questions is to be able to interpret terse instructions, not just solve the problem.
