I found a solution.
-
Turn of the computer completely even if it’s in install update screen.
-
Restart computer and go into windows, choose to: restart again. And you will get back to please wait while… message.
Do it all over again 2-3 times.
Now it should work.
This solution worked for me. I don’t take any personal responsibility for your computer, but 99% sure that nothing major happens to your computer.
Others who find this solution helpful can comment.
Also, I found out later there has been confirmed solution to this method from Microsoft themselves

Good luck and hope this helps!
Any tips on how to fix this? I got a new system firmware update and a restart was required for it and now its stuck like this.

My Lenovo Legion is stuck on this update screen, I have left it now for more than 8 hours. I don’t know what to do.
Just unboxed and started updating everything. Windows had a bunch of updates so naturally I began downloading and installing. I was then prompted to restart the system so I did. This was 1 hour ago... it doesn't look like it's ever going to leave this screen. I didn't manually install any new bios but I'm not 100% sure if any bios updates were included within all the Windows updates, i do know there were maybe 2 or 3 firmware updates there.
What should I do?
I had this screen for a while , can’t get in BIOS and can’t force shut down by pressing turn off button. What else can do?
My Legion Space application is acting really strangely and I can't figure it out. Every time it opens, it (slowly) downloads a "resource package" and after it finally finishes it says "Resource configuration failed." I've tried reinstalling it from Lenovo, but then it does this:
-
Installs from the 400+MB file
-
Opens, then RE-DOWNLOADS 400+ MB from Legion Space itself
-
Restarts, then attempts to redownload the earlier "resource package" I mentioned.
