So I just picked up an ideapad Gaming 3-15ACH6 Laptop and I'm having some issues running some games. I saw that the bios that cam pre-installed is H3CN36WW v2.02. Is there a newer BIOS out that works with Windows 11 or should I roll back to windows 10 or something?
The closest thing I found was this: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds554895-bios-update-for-windows-11-64-bit-ideapad-gaming-3-15iah7 but it says it's for the IdeaPad Gaming 3 15IAH7 and 16IAH7 and I don't want to run the risk of bricking this laptop if I can help it. Can I use this or is that a definite no?
As tittle says i want to update My Lenovo 15ACH6 BIOS to the latest one, but Lenovo page state it is for Windows 10 ( My laptop came with Windows 11 by default) although when reading BIOS update readme text it reads applicable OS win11 so i'm really confused about it. I want to update because ive had some weird blue screens from time to time most of them just after turning the laptop on and trying to open something it is weird. I do appreciate any help.
I want to update the BIOS on my Ideapad Gaming 3 15ARH05 with Windows 11. Where can I find the file?
Hi everyone,
I really need your help with my Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 (15ARH05, Ryzen 5 4600H, GTX 1650). After updating the BIOS to version FCCN21WW, I’ve been having major issues:
⚠️ Main issue:
The BIOS menu appears as a mostly empty blue screen. It only responds to the down arrow key, which opens the BIOS settings, but even then, most important settings like UEFI/Legacy mode, Secure Boot, TPM, Boot Priority, etc. are either missing, inaccessible, or totally blank.
Windows 11 still boots and works, but I can’t change boot mode (UEFI), and BIOS functionality seems broken.
🧪 What I’ve tried (none of these worked):
✅ Accessing BIOS with all key combinations (F2, F1, F12, etc.)
✅ Entering BIOS via Windows Settings > Recovery > UEFI
✅ Loading default BIOS settings with F9, saving with F10
✅ Disconnecting the main battery and power for a hard reset
✅ Attempting CMOS reset (though I can't locate the battery – may be integrated)
✅ Creating a bootable USB with the official FCCN21WW update and extracting files
✅ Looked for .fd or .bin files for recovery, but only got .exe, .bat, and platform.ini
✅ Running the installer – says "BIOS is up to date" and refuses downgrade
✅ Checked Lenovo Vantage, BIOS firmware update shows as "up to date"
✅ Tried BIOS flash from Windows, Slax live USB, and Ubuntu – no update applied
✅ Removed SSD, reinstalled Windows from scratch with GPT – still no BIOS fix
✅ Secure Boot, UEFI options still not appearing after clean install
✅ No "Novo" button on this model for factory reset
❓ What I want to know:
How can I restore or reflash the original (or working) BIOS version on this laptop?
I am NOT looking for risky flash modding or unofficial tools. I just want to:
-
Roll back the BIOS officially (Lenovo method)
-
Or fix/restore the BIOS UI to get UEFI and Secure Boot options back
Any help, insight, or official recovery method is very appreciated!
Thanks in advance 🙏
Lenovo has been notorious of not allowing users to access advance bios settings, but recently I have found a way to access this options in the bios menu. I have only tested this on Lenovo Ideapad gaming 3 15ACH6. Steps are as follow:Step 1: Turn off you laptop completelyStep 2 : Press the power button to turn onStep 3 : Spam F2 to enter BIOS menuStep 4 : After entering BIOS, DO NOT PRESS ANYTHING EXCEPT THE FOLLOWING KEYS : Press Fn+R+N for 3 times.Step 5 : Press F10, then enter to save and exitStep 6 : Spam F2 again until you are in BIOSStep 7 : You should now see some hidden options, Enjoy!
WARNING: By doing this, you *may* void your warranty or damage your hardware. Make sure you know what you are doing before changing anything within the BIOS. I soft bricked my laptop twice when messing with the options. I am not responsible for any damage cause by accessing the advance optionsPersonally I only changes the cpu power profile to the 54W profile, along with the use of AATU(aka UXTU) I managed to increase the performance by quite a bit. CinebenchR23 score before tweaking was 8906, but after tweaking the score increased to 11233 while maintaining <95℃. There are options for RAM speed but I didnt use those because I am not familiar with them. I really dont understand why Lenovo have to limit this laptop so much and not give us any easy option to boost the performance, there are plenty of thermal headroom in this machine. And total power isnt a problem as the cpu can run at 50W with gpu at 90W for over 10 minutes without any problem(no throttling no thermal problem). Lenovo why?Credit : I saw this method from https://youtu.be/mmd4Sc5bVcIAATU/UXTU : https://github.com/JamesCJ60/Universal-x86-Tuning-Utility
Hello, as the title I'm currently using an Ideapad Gaming 3 laptop and I'm experiencing some errors that are causing my computer to display a blue screen. I've asked around and they say it's due to Windows switching between the graphics card when it's idle and when it's active. I checked on PC Support and only found the FCCN21WW version from 2024 onwards before that I was using FCCN10WW. I want to ask if this is the latest version? Thank you.
