Hey guys! I was considering buying a Legion 5 for school and some casual gaming after getting good advice from here (waiting for the semester to be over because I'm buried deep in assignments). Anyway, I just saw an IdeaPad Gaming 3 on Prime Day deal for €799 with Ryzen 5 5600G, 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD and of course, RTX 3060. The Legion has Ryzen 5 5600H, the same RAM and storage with an RTX 3050. I'll add another 8GB RAM regardless of the choice.
Do you think the IdeaPad deal is good enough to take? I mostly care about longevity. If anyone has the IdeaPad or knows about it, are the thermals good?

I bought the same laptop today, just with rtx 3050Ti but still i7-12650h. I was so angry when it doesnt stop thermal throttling up to 100°c with basic use and opening apps(adobe office etc) i thought it is what it is but then i found this(and speed goes to 1.5ghz and never even stays at base clock 2.3) https://laptopmedia.com/review/lenovo-ideapad-gaming-3i-16-2022-review-its-display-is-fantastic/p7/ And there i saw that temp on this laptop are really good. Now, please tell me that the problem is just old dried up factory thermal paste... I am gonna buy arctic mx-6 tomorrow and see if that fixes the problem. I don't know about the build quality, but looking at the specs alone, looks like a very good value. Quite rare to find even rtx3050 laptops at that price (at least here in Asia lol), let alone rtx3060 ones. The GPU runs at 90W, correct? For the years left, I don't really know about the 3060 but I have a legion with a 2060 (80W), which is slower than a 3060 and it still runs newer games pretty well, so long as you don't run everything on ultra that is lol. Don't count on me though and definitely wait for other comments, I might be wrong.

Ordered this just now and it seems to be the best at it's price, my main use is to play Borderlands 3 decently and general purpose browsing etc . Are there any huge flaws i should know about ? Will it serve my purpose well ?
I just wanted to ask one more thing , i bought this for gaming while travelling overseas so will it causes issues if i game plugged into an international power convertor?

For it's price point it's a great deal. I have it and am satisfied. The only cons are that the chassis feels flimsy (I never had any issues, but I don't move it much). In some resource hungry games (Doom Eternal for ex) you will notice that it will slowly discharge even though it's plugged in. This is because the supplied 135w charger doesn't cut it. Screen is good. It has a 2nd hard drive bay, but it only fits a short SSD. Out of the box it comes with a long SSD which can be swapped for a HDD with the supplied carriage. 1 8GB ram is soldered. That's about all the cons. The biggest pro is that you won't find another brand with these good specs for this price

I have the one with 1650, don't move it from my desk so you might not get the answer you need from me, It has worked great so far. The only thing that's bad is battery life
