More on reddit.comAre Lenovo Thinkpad still worth it giving the high prices for them?
Hey,
With Thinkpads, you won't get only a better build quality but you'll also have great support. I think it's worth going for one - but in your budget, you're going to get an E or L Thinkpad, it won't have the build quality of a T series but it still is over the consumer class competitors.
As for a dedicated graphics card or not, it all depends on your needs: if your planning on doing some CAD or gaming then a dedicated GPU is required, if not - then an integrated one is just fine.
A middle ground can be reached with this one: Lenovo Thinkpad E485 you'll get the reliability and keyboard of a ThinkPad and the benefits of a Ryzen APU (the AMD Radeon RX Vega 8) - it's integrated but it has the performance of an MX130. It has a decent battery life ~7H, it's not too heavy (under 4lbs) and it has a lot of upgrade options: 2 storage interfaces and 2 memory slots.
If you don't like my recommendation, you can use this search tool in order to look for other alternatives. I've limited my search only for busienss grade laptops - for reliability.
You can see and change the search parameters using the "Refine results" button in the upper-left part of the search results page. You can also click on the laptops for more information.
