CMOS battery failure: The CMOS battery is used to maintain BIOS settings and the clock. If the battery fails, it may cause BIOS data to not be saved properly.

Motherboard issue: In rare cases, this beep pattern may also indicate a motherboard problem.

Out of nowhere my laptop started beeping after turning it on, and the screen remained black. It keeps repeating two notes every 4 seconds, and when i try holding down the power button, it makes a different noise. It usually lasts about 3 minutes before stopping and turning on normally.

Hello, About a month ago I received a T530. For a while it seemed like it was fine, it was working much better than my T520, however one there's one thing that I can no longer ignore.

There's a constant beeping that comes from the laptop. It's nothing from the speakers, it sounds like a piece of hardware acting up. I can't for the life of me figure out how to stop it and it's driving me nuts.

I had previously thought it was just mine that may have been defective, but my sister just came forth and told me she was experiencing the exact same thing.

Does anyone know how to fix this and save me from madness?

I'm not sure if it's the same thing, but if I'm in a really quiet room, then every ten minutes or so I can hear an extremely quiet sequence of three beeps coming from my T530. It sounds like it's coming from the bottom right corner of the laptop, but I can't be sure.

I've been using this laptop for a little over half a year without problems, though.
