Hi so as the title says, my brother is gifting me a TX1C8 for Christmas is it good for watching movies, browsing the internet and basic stuff with Windows 11?

hello, i'm looking to buy a 13 or 14 inch thinkpad for use at uni (exclusively for schoolwork-- psych & stats major, for context, so MS office and basic web browsing, perhaps some database software a few years down the line), and on the lower side of the price range. i am looking at a few options:

refurb X1 carbon gen 8 (intel i5) (from 2020)

new L13 gen 4 (intel i7)

new E14 gen 6 (ryzen 5 7535U)

unfortunately i know jack about processors so i'm not sure how they compare. i have read that the x1 gen 8 was seen as overpriced at the time for the processor quality, but now with the <$300 price tag, is that much of a concern? would it be too slow still?

i am most worried about battery degradation on the refurbished one, but the price point is what is attracting me (sub $300).

can anyone give advice on whether getting that one would be a bad or a good idea?
