Worth it or not? Yoga 7i
I got the same exact laptop. I do a lot of research, writing and editing, have to look up tons of things on the fly, have 15+ tabs open, 10+ PDFs, text editors. This thing runs great, good battery life too. I love how big the screen is as well. One thing I want to say: I had no idea how reflective the screen is. I even tried at a BestBuy in person, didn't notice it there, but when I got it and started working in a room with direct sunlight, it really surprised me. The brightness isn't great (300 nits). Sometimes, I can see people behind me in my screen's reflection. Given the great price, I can more than live with it. Overall, I did not find anything with these specs (16 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD), the amount of port selection (I wanted thunderbolt and HDMI to do laptop + 2 external displays), a 16" screen, good to very good battery at that price range. To me, the only downside is the glossy screen, but I've learned to live with it. More on reddit.com

What do y’all think of the Lenovo Yoga 7i?
I have the 16 inch screen, AMD version, and so far it hasn't failed me with one task. However, I accidentally dropped it and the corner now is dented while eating a bit in that part of the screen when I close it... I plan to send it back to lenovo under the warranty for a fix. In fairness it's a solid laptop but when it comes to durabilty it may not last. If you don't care much about the touchscreen, I would recommend a thinkpad (although these could get expensive). Anyways the 14 inch here may be easier to carry and have a grip on, and the intel chip would be good for a wide compatibility if you ever thought about running older programs (try to get over intel ultra 5 for future proof). I also played some games on mine (minecraft, genshin impact, roblox, sky: children of light). It didn't lag and the frame rate was very playable while having a good quality graphics. However, I do have to warn you about the heat it produces. I don't recommend you to game much on it (1 hour max for example) if you want it to last and not get slow and laggy quickly. If you do plan for that, I recommend you get a separate budget gaming laptop (like the LOQ or the Legion 5) and keep the 14 inch for work. I do will warn you about the screen though. If you have any plans for color and photo editing work, then the screen isn't the best. Also it's pretty dim (300 nits) + the glossy finish makes it a pain for outside work. Honestly, my only complaint. If you do mind the screen, then I recommend you look over for one of its other variants (lenovo yoga aura edition, 15 inch, beautiful screen). But basically, yes, this (yoga 7i 14-inch) is a good and capable laptop. Just try to get a intel ultra 5/7 (not intel i5/7, because their graphics are not as good). 16gb RAM minimum, and aim for a 1TB SSD for longevity. Good luck! More on reddit.com

Lenovo Yoga 7i (16', 7, i7 12700h with ARC) - Battery least for 4h - Intel Evo platform - Eco mode, brightness 40% nothing heavy is running in the background. should be at least 9h, what is wrong?
Same issue with my C940. Battery times greatly exaggerated. My one should last 9 hours and I get 2.5 Lenovo's testing basically having the laptop almost switched off. An utter joke. I can literally see the battery percentage dropping when using it. More on reddit.com

Most Honest Review of the Lenovo Yoga 7i – Only 3 days in*
Just got a Yoga 9i myself, also came from a MacBook. Haven't even had it for more than 24 hours yet, but so far, really can echo a lot of the points you made. Amazing screen, build quality, and speakers. The stylus support is an added bonus as I markup PDFs quite frequently for work. If I had to pick a complaint, would be around battery and efficiency. It's not bad but not great either. Expected a bit more battery life and less heat/fan noise. Its early on, so hard to put a great gauge on it. Great 2 in 1 all around though, pretty satisfied. r/laptops on Reddit: What do y’all think of the Lenovo Yoga 7i?
December 12, 2024 -

I’m looking for a new laptop and I have my eye on this one. Generally I’m not gonna do anything too heavy on it, mainly school, but I also play games sometimes. Not A Lot, so i’m not looking for a gaming computer, but something that’ll handle games well while still being relatively cheap.

For reference, the games I play the most I guess would be minecraft, terraria, and stardew valley (but i’ve actually had to take minecraft off my current laptop and put it on a USB drive just so i could use my laptop without it exploding from not enough storage💀)

So i would appreciate y’all’s insight for this laptop, or even a recommendation for another one between $400-800!

I have the 7i with the Intel ultra processor. It screams. 1 TB drive with 16gb ram. Screen is fine. IMHO, unless you absolutely need an OLED screen, don’t spend the extra money. Not a gamer, but this is a fantastic PC. I still have one of the original Yoga’s with the gear hinge. Works perfectly. That’s why I bought another Lenovo.
