No more 40" 4K TV's!
Best 40-48 inch class 1080p LED TV?
Any 40-43 inch TVs with good HDR?
40 inch 4k TV as a monitor?
what are the downsides to this?
- most TVs are glossy. Very expensive TVs apply some anti-glare treatment but still reflect plenty up close.
- unless TV is very expensive/high end, expect terrible uniformity of solid backgrounds - even worse than not-so-great monitors. To the point DSE will be very annoying on desktop apps.
- unless TV has ISO/VESA mount and you buy own stand/arm, ergonomic positioning may be hard
- (applies to some TVs) signal processing may create lots of input lag. This sometimes mutually exclusive with image quality (e.g. you can either choose quality or low lag but not both)
- (applies to some TVs) may use non-standard sub-pixel layout. This screws up ClearType and clarity of text in desktop apps

I need to replace my dying 40" 4K tv. I can't find any manufacturer that makes a 4K tv less thank 43". Why is this? I assume people don't think a tv that small needs to be 4K, but I can definitely see a difference compared to my previous 40" HD tv.
