Do you work with my extended or home warranty?
Do you service my appliance?
Is it cheaper to buy a new unit?
Our LG french door refrigerator stopped cooling this past Sunday. The fridge section is about 55 degrees F and not sure on the freezer temp, but its not freezing. Model#: LMXS30776S
The fridge is only 5 years old. We had a appliance repair guy out here and provided a estimate of $1800 for the compressor replacement. Does that price seem fair? Never thought it would be that high!
Do we call another appliance repair shop or purchase a new fridge?
I'm in the market for a counter depth refrigerator under 2k I'd like a bottom freezer but don't necessarily need it to be french door. I don't want any frills (thanks to the advice of Bens Appliances and Junk) - no need for a water dispenser, wifi, etc. The most spacious option I've found is the LG Counter Depth MAX. However, I know that LG has had major compressor issues and I don't want to even consider this fridge unless they have fixed their linear compressor.
On the same note, are Samsungs still a bad idea, even if they don't have an ice maker in the fridge? Particularly something like https://www.lowes.com/pd/Samsung-5101-11-7-cu-ft-French-Door-Refrigerator-with-Ice-Maker-Fingerprint-Resistant-Stainless-Steel-ENERGY-STAR/5001657087?
Any advice? And if not this fridge, what would you go with? Thanks!
