This is pretty normal if it is a load of cottons. We have a separate washer and dryer so we only use the combo function of the LG when we leave for work or go to bed. The only way to reduce the time is to go with the highest speed spin. Answer from an_actual_lawyer on reddit.com

My lg washer/dryer I own is not drying my clothes. I replaced the drain pump because it was not draining and cleaned filter but still not drying. I opened the machine and cleaned inside the machine and removed all lint. I also tested the heating element and it seems to be heating up but clothes still are wet. Any advice on what other areas I can clean or test to get the machine to dry properly.

r/Appliances on Reddit: LG Washer Wash + Dry combo takes 7 hours?
December 8, 2023 -

Hello everybody,

I have recently purchased a LG F4V9BCP2EE Washer Dryer combo as my recent beast of 11 year machine has given up.

I have a question to ask you good people.

This is a 12kg wash/8kg dry machine. My recent one was a 5kg only washer.

Even when I fill the %60-70 of the tank when I start the wash+dry cycle it calculates and takes around 7 hours?! Is this normal?

As I've read that is usually the case with wash + dry combo machines, 7 hours seems like a stretch.

Is there anything I can do to decrease the time?

If anybody has any insights or experiences with such machines, please share.

Thanks in advance!

So, I have an LG 4.5 Cu. Ft. SMART Electric All-in-One Washer Dryer Combo which has served me very very well for about a year and a half except for one recurring nuisance.

When I am drying clothes and I feel them and they are not dry enough, I can't just give it another 15-30 minutes of drying time without it adding A LOT of water and THEN starting the dry cycle.

It's so annoying and counterproductive. What am I doing wrong? How can I just add drying time?

Model: WM3997MWA Im posting this before bed but I figured I’d post this now…

So the machine gets hot (Atleast it seems it does when I put my hand on the top) but our clothes won’t even come out warm even if it runs for hours I’ve tried this with just one piece of clothing, same issue. Cleaning the drain pump didn’t help.

I have no experience with this but figured I could try and learn it, just wanted to see where I should be starting, if anyone needs pictures I’ll send some over tomorrow.

Thank you in advance!

r/Appliances on Reddit: New LG dryer not drying clothes fully?
July 2, 2022 -

Just got an LG washer and dryer, model DLEX7880WE, from costco About a month ago.

No matter how many clothes or towels or bedding I dry, they always are left just a little damp at the end. Turning off the “energy saver” feature seems to help, but not always. The clothes are definitely hot so that’s working, it’s just that some of them are still damp after the dryer thinks it’s done.

Any ideas? We’re not jamming the dryer full of clothes and it’s got a big capacity…our dryer vent is also clean.

I just moved in to a new place, and it's already furnished with LG washer dryer combo. I'm still trying to figure out if it can be used for drying only. Any idea which button to use? Or does it have a dry only function at all? I can't find the type/ model number. Thanks in advance.

r/appliancerepair on Reddit: LG Washer/Dryer combo (WM 3987) not drying
May 27, 2023 -

I have an LG WM 3987 HW that is not drying clothes properly. This symptom happened suddenly. I did a load an the clothes came out soaking wet. I put them on spin again and then air dried them.

I ran a dry cycle with no clothes and saw the inner drum was filling with an appreciable amount of water. I think this is not supposed to happen. I think the outer tub is supposed to get some cool water to help condense the water vapor in the air from the hot clothes, but that amount of water I saw was too much.

Further, I tried running a dry only cycle with the ball valve on the cold inlet turned almost off. This should restrict flow. Doing this I have been able to successfully dry clothes again. However, having to adjust the ball valve every time I want to dry clothes is sort of annoying. Also it defeats the purpose of it being an all-in-one machine.

Has anyone experienced a similar thing and been able to fix it?

Does anyone know how the water level in the outer drum is controlled on these machines?? Is it a fill sensor, or is there a mechanical flow control valve that could be defective, or could it be a control circuit that is malfunctioning? Thanks for any ideas!

r/Appliances on Reddit: LG washer/dryer combo floods during the "dry" cycle
December 5, 2021 -

Hello, I have a front-loading washer/dryer from LG. The wash part of the cycle appears to be running well, including the spin phase which drains and eliminates most moisture. However, when we run the "dry" part, water is introduced into the drum and leaves everything sopping wet. Afterwards, we can run the spin cycle again and get clothes that are just damp.

We've tried typical troubleshooting steps including making sure all drains and clear of clogs, powering the device off, and clearing the drain catch which did not resolve the problem. The unit still heats up during the "dry" cycle, it's not not effective when being flooded by extra water. Water is internal and doesn't spread outside of the unit.

Any ideas of what's happening with they "dry" phase and how we can fix it, or is the only option to go to a professional? Thanks in advance for your help!

We bought an LG Wash Combo and it has been fantastic until now. It usually washed and dries in a normal time but lately has gotten stuck in the dry cycle.

It seems to get stuck on 4 or 6 minutes left and continues to dry for hours. When I stop it the clothes are bone dry so it’s not that they’re still wet.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

r/Appliances on Reddit: LG 5.0 cu. ft. Washer Dryer Combo - Dryer Never Stops (and other issues...)
February 9, 2024 -

I purchased an LG washer/dryer combo less than three months ago. We were satisfied at first, but we've run into a few issues.

  1. The dryer never stops. It seems that no matter how dry the clothes are, the dryer will not stop running. The clothes could be bone dry and it'll continue running until someone stops it. The display will often read something like 12, 9, or 2 minutes left, but it never reaches zero. Aside from being inconvenient, this has been very troubling because the machine will get so hot it almost hurts to touch it. What I've read so far suggests this may be an issue with the control board.

  2. The lint is maddening! We clean the lint filter after every use, but there's hardly ever anything in it. On the other hand, the rubber gasket at the door seems almost carpeted with lint after each load. I always have to pause to wipe out the lint and dig some out of the drain holes. This seems unreasonable.

  3. Speaking of lint, I've had to clean out the drain pump filter twice in the past month. Most of what gets caught in there is lint. I don't understand why the lint isn't making its way to the lint filter instead.

  4. We’ve also started seeing a great deal of condensation building up on the outside of the detergent dispenser door/drawer.

Has anyone experienced all four of these problems at once? I can't tell whether they're all connected issues. The unit is under warranty and I've had some trouble getting in touch with customer service (the lesson I've learned is never buy appliances through Home Depot). I'll continue trying to reach them. In the meantime, I'd welcome any help or suggestions that might mitigate these issues.

I’ve had this unit for several months now. I agree with the lint accumulating on the gasket, it is incredibly annoying and I don’t understand why the gasket is not made of a material that can actually be wiped smooth instead of “sticky “. I also occasionally experience the issue of the drying cycle never ending. Just yesterday I left the house with five towels in there on AI setting. I came home 12 hours later and the machine had literally just stopped. Overall, convenience seems to outweigh the negatives so for now I’m putting up with this, but hopefully there are some fixes to these issues

I have had the same model since Q4 2023. It is the worst appliance I have ever purchased. Bar none. The machine uses so little water that soap residue is left on clothing regardless of the amount of detergent (liquid or powder) is used. All rinses use cold water. Below are the issues I have experienced: Smaller loads (e.g., <10 t-shirts) get tangled into a big burrito The "Fresh Care" feature no longer works; the drum does not spin despite "Fresh Care" being shown on the LCD The machine randomly trips the circuit breaker. Lint gets trapped in the rubber gasket and inside the inner seal that sits flush against the drum White clothing comes out chalky and, after drying, produces clouds of dust/lint from the detergent residue There is no native "custom" preset. The LG app, and an LG Account, are required to add additional LG presets to the unit; there is no option to save your own custom presets. TL;DR - I am not impressed, and I am in the process of attempting to return it. I would love to hear your experiences.

Hi wise people. My LG washer dryer combo (FWV917WTSE) is just old enough to be out off warranty. The drying cycle brings the clothes soaking wet although they were really getting close to dry after spinning. 6 engineer visits. Every part they could think of has been replaced. The appliance drains properly for the wash cycle. It's just the drying. I've tried the few tricks I could get from YouTube. I'm stumped! Anyone has any clever ideas?

I have an LG FV1413H2BA here in the Philippines and I really can't figure out (after doing reaearch) what rhe difference is between the following dry programs:

Normal dry, Normal eco, and Eco Hybrid

Furthermore, Eco Hybrid can be turned on for the different drying programs. It seems to be an extra feature rather than a drying program on its own so I have no clue what these all mean.

Also, I tried using Normal for my whites just a few hours and a lot of then shrunk even though the labels say they can be tumble dried! Sigh. So normal has too high temps?

Can anybody help? Thanks.

Have had the LG combo washer/dryer (WM3488HW) for 4 years and it stopped drying. No error codes.

Cleaned out the vent, fan, filter of lint, debris, and copious amounts of dog hair and didn’t help. Then replaced the heating coil and thermistor. Did a electrical reset. Still not drying and haven’t been able to get an appliance repair that services combo units to come look at it (save one that said to keep running it until it coded out 👎).

These things are built like trash, but really banging my head at this point. Any ideas??

I have replaced the drain motor (about a year ago it died and was replaced. I just verified with test mode the drain pump is working). I just replaced the cold water inlet (had a partially stuck open valve). I cleaned the water circulation hoses out (they were clogged with lint). I took the dryer duct out and verified it was not clogged up. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
