So I've been eager to learn meself some CAD. Yet, all those cloud shenanigans Autodesk does nowadays really annoy me. I'm not against clouds, mind you, but the save limit and active and inactive projects, workspaces, synchronisations and whatnot feel like overhead that just gets in the way for me as I stumble through tutorials frustratedly shouting at my screen because the point the tutorial wants me to move is just not there.

So: as someone who is brand new to CAD and wants to use it for 3d printing almost exclusively: which one do I start with?

I know that both can do 2D CAD sketches but I'm not sure what the differences are for both, what should I choose? I'm just looking for an alternative for AutoCAD on Linux since that's what we are using for our class, I'm guessing that LibreCAD is more suitable for this? Thanks!
