I have bought probably 5 lightning to aux adapters in the past year and they all have broke because of how frequently I use them. I’m fed up with having to buy a new one thinking it would be the last time, is there a good third party one that could substitute the official apple one?

Here is a tip for you apple makes good cables with bad quality materials, put some heat shrink on the edges that should solve the issue, But here This is one of the best replacements that I have bought is a really good option for not a lot of money. Edit: I think drop has other options but this one is way more convenient for the size.

For starters I would probably use the Apple lightning adapter with a standard aux cord rather than a one-piece cord with lightning on one end and 3.5 mm on the other end. Either way, you are still getting lossless output to the radio. An aftermarket head unit has the potential to get you a little more sound quality, but it's not a necessity. Do you have Apple Carplay on your head unit? I do Android Auto with mine and I would not want to live without that now that I've had it. More on reddit.com
