Edit: Your cheapest option would be Amazon. You can get 4 cables for ~$15. Nothing in Dollarama is cheap anymore because almost nothing cost a dollar anymore at Dollarama.

I've only seen micro and mini USB cables there, and they're garbage.

For those that missed Walmart Onn USB C to Lightning cables found that Dollarama now has house brand Tech 1 USB-C to Lightning cables for $4.

This was on Vancouver Island in BC.

Don’t know if they’re MFI certified, but probably not for the price. Any comment on the tech 1 cable quality?

To me they last long and they also charge quick. I believe buying a 20$ cable will do the same and they last as long as you take care of them. If you unplug by pulling the wire, instead of the connector, they won't last that long, Same with the 20$ cable. They're not that bad, they can last between 6 months to 2 years... I don't believe these wires to be so expensive, it's all the same quality, they're build in the same countries than the 20$ ones.

Hello! I'm looking to get a small charger with a cable that can charge all of my various devices.

I've ran into many issues with USB-C chargers and cables, a lot of them seem to be incompatible with some devices, especially cheap aliexpress electronics like flashlights, consoles, headphones, mini cameras and other accessories. Even though they all have a USB-C ports, they only really want to charge from a simple standard 5v 1a USB-A phone charger with an USB-A to USB-C cable. I use a lot of those, and I need a charger that will charge them all, as well as my phone.

I'm building an EDC kit, and would like to get a small and light charger that can charge all of my gear in a pinch. I don't care about them charging fast, my main concerns are compatibility, size, weight and of course price. I'm not looking to spend over $50, and the cheaper the better, as you can probably tell I'm usually on a pretty tight budget and buy a lot of aliexpress stuff ;p

Is there something like this out there, or am I better off just carrying an old phone charger I know will work with almost everything?

It's a little more complicated than that: It depends on the power required by the devices you want to charge. Blindly like that, I recommend a relatively powerful charger (like 65w or 100w) and with Usb-C ports and a USB A port. For example, the 65w Anker nano II 735 is around €20 on Amazon at the moment. You add a 100w USB-C cable (for example a Baseus in braided nylon) and a USB-A to USB-C cable for your small devices. Your compatibility problem is frequently discussed here, some devices have a "USB-C" port for charging, but do not have all the connectors provided for the USB-C standard. As a result, if you use a USB-C charger itself, it will not receive any information from the device you want to charge and will therefore not send it anything. Hence the interest in having a USB-A port and a USB-A to USB-C cable. But again, it all depends on the power you need. A Macbook pro and an e-vape both have a USB-C port, but one can expect 100w and the other only 5.

I recently moved from Pixel 6 to iPhone 14 Pro. I need USB-A to Lightning and USB-C to Lightning cables, 2 of each. The official Apple ones are $17 each on Amazon and that seems unreasonable to me

Are there any other recommended ones? There are a lot of brands on Amazon that I've never heard of..

Anker is an old reliable. They have a great reputation. My two braided USB to Lightning cables from them have lasted many years. Tripp Lite makes nice ones as well.

Store by me had some for a long time, finally sold down and out, then recently got more or newer/updated packaging ones.

(Or for all I know they were found hiding in the backroom somewhere 😂)

The USB-C to C cables work great and are fast charging for those newer phones so they can support the power. Best price on them as far as I'm concerned regardless of length, short of an Amazon or Temu type order where a pack of a few are bought instead of 1.

Even found and got a couple of the USB-C to USB-A adapter plugs for those cables to plug into almost anything to use/charge with.

See? Dollar Tree ain't ALL bad! 😁😂 - I mean 1.25 for a cable...but go to a Walmart, Best Buy, big box store and it's an easy 10-15 for the same type of cable.

We have lightning cables available in our Plus selection for $5 IF you can find a store that they haven't all been stolen from. Check the register area or ask a cashier, we have had to stock ours at the front behind the balloon counter.

Their batteries are a pretty good product, too. Even the blue package "low draw" ones can keep a 360 or Wii-mote going for just as long as Energizer or whatever. The company must like them. FD has them at the same price-point as DT, and my FD has a half-height endcap of them in checkout/queuing. Our shrink on other batteries has dropped significantly since putting up the endcap. A swing and a hit!

So I got a "SABRENT Rocket 2230 1TB NVMe SSD" and attached it to a "SHARGE Disk M.2 NVMe SSD Enclosure."

The problem is that the enclosure uses USB-C and my IPhone is Lightning. Is there any USB-C Female to Lightning Male adapters that actually work for Data Transfering?

I need to transfer photos, videos and files out my phone for space, but I have seen reviews on products and they all say that none work for Data Transfering. Even MFI Certified Adapters only work for Charging.

If anyone knows of a good adapter that really works for Data Transfering, I'll appreciate it highly!

Officially, no - usbc female isn't allowed to be on a cable. Practically, yes. Search AliExpress. They're only USB 2 though, and the iPhone only supports usb 2, but the nvme enclosure might require thunderbolt. If so, I don't think it's possible.

The only adapter that will surely work for you is the camera adapter thing that Apple sells that lets you plug in both a charger and the SSD/HDD at the same time to the iPhone. It's a limitation of the lightning port because they don't give enough power to external HDDs or SSDs to properly use them. They MIGHT be able to read them, but writing to an SSD can take 6-9W and that's more than what the Lightning port can provide.

All of my devices use USB-C except my AirPods and most of the people I know have iPhones. Are there any good USB-C to Lightning adapters I can get so I can still use my chargers? I've heard that adapters like that can be damaging for devices but I don't know if there's much truth to that.

They're not approved by Apple. C-to-Lightning cables are MFi approved. I would seriously not purchase anything until Apple OKs it. It's their proprietary connector. Shady folks who try to reverse engineer it could do it badly, and you'd have to explain how you killed your airpod case to the Genius Bar.

There are USB-C PD to lighting cables that comes as complete set. I would use those compared to standard USB-A to lightining. However Apple did get slapped with you must upgrade everything to support USB-C. Iphone 15 is supposed to support USB-C then. With those changes they should be changing their other devices to support USB-C also.

I’m trying to find a cord with a USB C female end leading to a Lightning male connection.

I haven’t been able to find one so far that I am confident will fit my use case. I’m looking to make a connection between the USB C male on a Square stand to the Lightning female port on a 9th generation iPad.

Ideally able to transfer both a charge and the relevant data. But the data is by far the most important part of the setup.

Apple is entirely in control of the lightning connector, and if they haven’t built it themselves or made a MFi program to allow 3rd parties to build any converter, you can be assured that it is impossible.

You can just buy a usb-c f-f coupler, they are not in the spec either but should be more than fine for an iPad
