I just discovered that there is no way of using my lightning earphones on that port. And even though there might be converters, they are not certified or hell expensive. I have EarPods that have the Lightning Connector but I also have a laptop that uses 3.55mm and I was wondering if there was a dongle that I could purchase.

What am I missing here? This device works fine for iPhone -> analog out functionality. It should be plug-and-play for a simple cable. The dongle page says that it works for all devices that have a lightning connector and support iOS 10 or above, which the AirPods Max do.

Unfortunately, Apple’s Lightning EarPods (or any other Lightning-only audio accessories) do not support a simple passive adapter to convert them into a 3.5mm headphone jack. The reason is that Lightning headphones rely on digital audio processing, whereas a 3.5mm jack outputs an analog signal.

March 2, 2024 - Both headphones sounded great when hooked up to the amp, regardless if the audio was sourced from the iPhone's analog jack or the dongle. There did seem to be a small difference in audio quality, but overall it was pretty negligible.

Answer (1 of 2): Reduce the sound quality as compared to what — no sound at all? If you have a better way to listen to the iPhone than a 3.5mm adapter, why not use that? Or maybe the problem isn’t your adapter but the headphones/earbuds you’re using. You might want to check those on another devic...
