H&M online! I own 4 sets of their linen and 3 sets of their muslin (each set is two Twins). They are beautifully sewn, great quality, get super soft after a few washes, and fit perfectly on my Buffy Eucalyptus duvet inserts. They have gone up in price iver the years, but often have 25-30% off sales. Snagged my last set around Christmas for $67 each. More on reddit.com

I see no problem with that strategy, honestly. The duvet cover often is the most expensive element in many instances. For example, I always recommend a linen canvas duvet cover since it's so damn durable and breathable out of all the fabric options available but it's insanely expensive ($500+ retail). This usually leaves little budget left over for a duvet insert for most people -- even when they find great deals at a few hundred dollars less from places like Ebay --- so it is not a new concept. I tend to also highly recommend silk inserts since they're great for hot sleepers and they are pretty reliable all-around (cheap ones to expensive ones). Hell, I have a cheap all-season silk insert from Costco (SilkHaven brand) that works really well for the price I paid for it, so buying budget-friendly duvet inserts sometimes is not a bad thing at all! The more expensive silk inserts tend to be either really nice outershell options or really high-end silk grades (6A) which raises the price quite a bit (but doesn't increase the breathability of the silk fill too much, overall). Overall, though, you'll probably do pretty well with a more average-priced insert as long as the filling material you're buying is breathable and decently durable. More on reddit.com

I too am shopping for a linen duvet cover. I got fabric swatches from Peacock Alley and the fabric is lovely and color is perfect. Garnet Hill has linen duvets which are about 1/3 the cost. I bought a sateen floral duvet cover from GH and the colors are beautiful. But I’m not finding the linen color I want. Maybe you’ll find something. Hi all!
I’m going deep down the rabbit hole of upping my bedding game. I’m just now looking for a duvet cover. After researching between Linen vs Cotton, I think I’m siding with linen, but having troubles with a quality brand. Brands I see highly recommended then start deep diving into unravel bad reviews and stories. I’d say I’m looking for a quality cover with around a $300 budget but definitely flexible.
Brands I’ve looked into:
The Company Store: heard quality may be worse since accquisition
Quince: Heard some of the sheets have had issues with holes early on, but I’m looking for a cover so maybe less of a worry. Also heard about a lot of early shedding
Magic Linen: Seemingly good so far but heard they don’t get as soft after washing?
Bosker: Not a ton of info I’ve found here
If anyone has tested any of these brands or compared them I’m all ears! Also open to any other brands I haven’t looked into yet, thank you!

I buy my linen sheets and pillowcases from SoLinen on Etsy. I'm sure the duvet cover is just as nice as my sheets. I've recommended them before on this sub and I swear I'm not affiliated with the company, just a person that is really really happy with finding quality linen sheets. And it comes wrapped nicely and packaged in a cute box. And it's a small business (I presume) in Poland. They even sent a handwritten thank you card. What could be better!? Lol. No shedding, no tearing, no holes, no rips. Softer with every wash.
