Nvidia GPU Fan Curve Control
Control fan speed for AMD GPU?
GPU fan control apps? I have an EVGA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti
AMD GPU Adaptive Fan controls

New to Linux, extremely happy with it so far. Question: does anyone have recommendations for a program to control their Nvidia GPU fan behavior? My fans will repeatedly kick in and kick off at my GPU's idling temperature. Nvidia Settings > Thermal Settings only goes so far. I'm essentially looking for a Precision X1 replacement. I'm using a 3060 ti.
It seems like GWE was the best solution until the dev switched to AMD, are there any actively maintained replacements?
I've heard some people recommend Cooler Control, but I get the sense it's almost overkill for what I'm trying to do. I've also seen some mention about using BIOS, am I correct that this is only for CPU and (possibly) case fans?
I appreciate any suggestions!
I have an AMD RX580 that idles around 50c. I use MSI Afterburner to set the fan speed in Windows, but I can't find an alternative for Mint 19 . Does anyone have any solutions?
My GPU fans are bonkers. I built this PC a few months ago, and I guess I didn't do enough homework on the GPU compatibility. The PC runs great, and I am really enjoying the switch to Linux (aside from the fact that the learning curve is really steep).
But my GPU fans are constantly starting/stopping, like every 5 seconds they will stop, then start up again. This creates a constant buzzing/clicking sound when they start/stop. Very annoying, and also I'm concerned about the GPU overheating.
It seems like the selection of fan control software is pretty slim, but I'm hoping there are solutions!
I tried downloading fancontrol, but when I run the commands, it says that the program cannot detect the proper sensors to monitor or make any changes.
What would yall suggest I do here?
I basically just want to adjust the fans so that they run constantly, without starting or stopping.
I abandoned the Window-ship and am now sailing steadily with Mint Cinnamon 21.1.
Everything is running surprisingly well with little to no configuration, which is great, however I found that running games through Steam causes the fans to max out their RPM for some reason. Another game running natively on Linux with equal graphics doesn't. The fans behave as they should, meaning it'll adapt to strain but generally speaking runs very quiet.
I seem to recall a thread that had the same topic discussed with a solution but I cannot find it. Googling about I found one video that had a tool that allowed you to set fan RPMs manually but they're not adaptive.
Running the following setup: Asus Prime B660M-A D4 Intel i3 12000F MSI Radeon RX 6600 XT 32 gigaram of some European brand I can't remember at the time
i used windows 11 where i had asus proart creator hub app where i could control fan speed... but now i am on linux mint... i used different fan speed modes for gaming and other tasks...how to change them now? (laptop device)
As the title says, I'm looking for a tool which I can use to control my AMD GPU fans, I recently switched to Linux Mint and now realize how much noise it makes when playing Minecraft with some shaders and mods etc, I have a decent card and don't need it to spin this much. The default settings are way too aggressive utlimately I'd like to have something like we have on Windows, it's called AMD Adrenalin but I doubt that's available for us Linux users because we're the minority unfortunately.
