r/watercooling on Reddit: Advice for first time water cool pc build
August 30, 2022 -

So I'm saving the funds to build a high end water cooled pc. This will be the first time I build a PC period so I'm extra nervous that I might screw something up. I've done hours and hours of research but im still learning dos and don'ts. For example I was originally going to use opaque coolant but quickly found out yesterday that unless I want particle buildup in my loop, it may not be the best idea. If specs are important this is my build plan:

MSI Ventus GeForce RTX 3080 ti-- Ryzen 9 5900X-- 32GB DDR4 3600 G.SKILL trident Z Royal ram-- MSI MPG X570 motherboard-- Two M.2 SSD (one 1tb WD SN850 the other 2tb Samsung 980 Pro)-- Two 360mm radiators with 3 120mm fans each-- All put inside a Lian Li PC-011 Razer edition case-- The pump, tubing, GPU watercooling plates, and everything is all from corsair.-- (1000w EVGA power supply if that's important too)

My plan is to have it all hardlined with both the CPU and GPU watercooled. I wanted to use a distribution plate instead of a regular reservoir but I figured once I got my feet wet I'd look into switching. So with all that. Any advice? Feel like I'm doing good but I don't know everything.

Edit: grammar fixes and tiny bit more detail.

First Liquid cooled PC

Be sure to check performance-pcs, TitanRigs, ModMyMods, Formula Mods, and aliexpress. Bykski, alphacool, Barrow, aquacomputer are all good brands. Heat killer is generally considered the best blocks, but can be pricey, so I look at bykski, alphacool, and barrow. EK is generally more expensive and their QC has dropped off in recent times, I’d avoid them when shopping around.

I’d recommend soft tubing, EPDM is great and can be bought for reasonable prices from McMaster-Carr. Don’t buy the PC water cooling branded stuff, it’s the exact same but costs more.

r/watercooling on Reddit: First Liquid cooled PC
November 19, 2024 -

So this will be my 2nd ever build and my first liquid cooled build. I don't really know where to start, but after looking around I came upon these parts.

I'm going to have a 7900 XT and a 7800x3d. I know the Corsair brand, but I'm sure they probably aren't the best bang for buck. Then again, I could be wrong.

I'd like to maybe lessen the price of the parts a little bit, but I do want RGB. The case I'm building in is the Montech King 95 Pro.

My main questions are- what tubing should I use? What brand of liquid is good to use? How much tubing should I get? Am I getting the best bang for my buck with the listed parts currently? What fittings should I use?

I should also mention, the build is going to be completely white.

March 30, 2018 - However, realistically, you will most likely need fans for your build; drain valve — another secondary component that is still an absolute must: provides an ability to drain a loop without splatting a coolant all over the case; fill port — although you can always fill a loop through spare reservoir ports, using a dedicated fill port accessible from the outside of a case is just a more natural way to have the job done; flow indicator — a transparent box with a valve that rotates when liquid moves.
