Hello - I'm expecting a delivery today and they're requiring me to give a driver a password. Well the delivery window is TWELVE HOURS long so guess I'm stuck at home all day. Cool.
Well my question is about the map that is shown when tracking a package. It says "out for delivery", however I see nothing on the map except my house. Is this supposed to tell me where the truck is or something? Right now it's just a blank map.
Can someone explain whats going on please? Thanks
I'll get a notification saying my order is like 7 stops away. It says "See where it is on the map." I'll view it no problem. Then later on, I'll check, and there's no map. Why is it appearing and disappearing? It does this EVERY time. It's like the driver is hitting a button to go incognito for hours because they decided to have a lunch and a nap.

Amazon Logistics Package Tracking
Why there is no tracking information on Amazon?
Where to find tracking number on Amazon?
It used to be a super hand tool for tracking package delivery.
For the last two weeks or so the tracking map hasn't shown any correct info. Some days it will say " your package is [X] stops away, see where it is" when it hasn't even gone out for delivery, other days it doesn't give me a live tracking notification until after the package has been delivered.
Ever since the update that made the map permanent, the live tracking service is either unreliable or down right useless.
Just noticed that for packages through Amazon (their own delivery system), you can track it live.

I zoomed in to remove my location. The green dot is my Amazon package!
That's so frickin' awesome.
Just noticed this today with one of my deliveries as well. The dot for the driver actually moved as he walked up my driveway.
Very cool stuff.
What the hell? I just got a package from AMZL today and had no idea about this! Oh well, I'm getting another one tomorrow, so I'll be sure to try this.
Had a package that was supposed to come today. The delivery got close enough that the map showed up with the "you are X stops away!" I watched as the map updated to when the driver left my complex. "Oh they forgot about me!" I think. It's been 4 hours, and the map still appears with it showing where the driver is around town.
Here's the kicker! About an hour ago I had a knock at the door. It was a neighbor with my package!
Delivered to the wrong address, AND didn't mark it as delivered! Now I'm watching them drive around town and it has the "the driver has to make a few more deliveries on the way to your address" message. Going to be interesting to see how long it continues to show where the driver is.
So I remember Amazon introducing map tracking a couple years ago. I would get it on maybe 10% of my orders and I order a LOT on Amazon. It was very rare and exciting when I would get it.
Then I didn’t get it at all for like 8-12 months. I thought they stopped the program, which made sense to me because it seemed totally insane to have to predict that on top of all the other sophisticated tracking.
For the past few months though the MAP is back, but the TRACKING isn’t. When I go to track a package, I see a map helpfully indicating where my house is. Thanks Amazon! No indication whatsoever of where the delivery truck is.
This map appears long before the “out for delivery” status too, so I assumed it’s not for tracking anyway.
Does anyone know what the purpose of this map is? I see it both on desktop on Chrome and on the iOS app, which is fully updated on my phone. My only guess could be that maybe it’s a quick and easy reassurance that I didn’t put the wrong delivery address in by mistake? I think it looks really ugly and is terrible for user experience on all platforms though.
I'm looking for an app that will track a wide range of packages, especially ones from Amazon. I've tried Aftership and 17Track, but they don't seem to work for Amazon packages.
The Delivery tracking app by oRRs used to work, but Amazon tracking is now broken on that app. I've seen people claiming that Aftership and 17Track work with Amazon, but they're not working for me.
Update: I didn't have two-factor authentication turned on on my Amazon account. I turned on two two-factor authentication, and then I started receiving the code necessary to complete the Amazon synchronisation setup. It appears that the app has a bug, and that it won't allow synchronisation on Amazon accounts without two-factor.
Update 2: Now, I'm logged into Amazon, but I'm getting phantom security codes texted to me several times a day. It sells like the Deliveries app is not handling Amazon two-factor security very well.
