According to the lodge website, the 6-quart is 10.5 inches in diameter and about 4.75 inches in height without the lid. What I find with my enameled cast iron dutch ovens is that the weight affects whether I use them or not because it makes them a pain to clean. The largest one I have is 5.25 quarts. I am thinking about the 6.75 quart but I wouldn't use it all that much simply because it's so heavy. I would only use it for when I need to make a big batch of food which isn't often anyhow. I'm looking at buying a Lodge enameled Dutch oven but I'm having trouble deciding the right size to buy. I'm stuck between the 6 qt and 7.5 qt, and don't really have much of a way to see them in person. I'd like to save some money and not buy the 7.5 qt if there's no reason for it. I'd mainly be using it for things like making pork for Cubans or braising other large pieces of meat. Is this reasonably achievable in a 6 qt? I understand it depends on the size of the cut, but given limited storage space and price, I'm curious if 6 qts will work. Thanks!

5-6qt is the sweet spot. Larger can cause your pan liquid to evaporate away and burn. Smaller and you can’t fit roasts and things well.
